If you refuse veg then I'd recommend liver and other offal to get your extra nutrients. Also cheap! If you're really determined you can try full-carnivore, but it needs research/dedication - and it means eating meat, offal, fat. Not mince and potatoes.

I would wean yourself onto veg - you can start with eating more carrots, then maybe something similar such as carrot/swede mash, then expand from there. Do you eat anything green? Fresh herbs are high in nutrients, so the least you can do is add those in.

    Hi Carrie,

Do you hate all veg or more the 'traditional' root veggies like carrots, cauli, parnips etc. I'm really not a fan or these, or salad for that matter, but I will eat things like mushrooms, peppers, onions, tomato (cooked only, can't stand the texture when it's raw!) and can get quite a bit of variety out of that.
For example, I have things like chilli (I make it with quorn mince as don't eat meat but my OH will eat it as well so can't be that bad!) say on a jacket pot or as burritos.
Spag bol (again with veggie mince)
    Fajihitas
Pasta - usually just throw in whatever veggies I have in the fridge.
Stir fry in a sauce with small portion of rice
Jacket with beans/cottage cheese (OH with have tuna etc) - I often tend to throw mush/onion/cherry toms in with the beans to up my veggies for the day.
  • wont touch offal, the sight of it makes me queasy n it smells and feels vile ..

already explained the veg thing its a no go area. i dont like any...

    :)

7 stone is quite a lot. Does it not qualify you for some extra advice and support from the GP, rather than just being sent away and told to work it out for yourself? Surely you can at least see the practise nurse for some practical dietary advice, and maybe even access a slimming club and exercise programme free for a while via a referral from your GP.

If you can't get any specialised advice, maybe a low fat diet would be the best option for you, given that your current diet is quite carbohydrate based but your portions are quite small. It sounds like you would find it hard to go on a low carb high protein plan given that you don't eat vegetables really. You could have a look at Rosemary Conley's plans online or I think there might also be a magazine and see if her ideas appeal to you.

(hoping to get some low fat proper cheese when i go shopping tomorrow)

Cathedral city do a "lighter" cheese which is much better for you, but still tastes pretty good. Another tip is to buy cheese slices - again, you can use one slice, two slices etc and know exactly what you're eating. It's also cut much thinner than you'd do it yourself, so you end up using less.
  • when i ate what i liked i maintained my weight (time of the month permitting). docs refused psychotherapy when i suggested it. he just put me on the tablets.and told me to get on with it...
i have in the past seen a dietician, she wasnt helpful as she told me slim fast shakes and fruit/ yogurts and 1 meal a day less than 500 cals...
