  • Frozen veg would be great if she ate it ;) Carrie seems to be like me with veg!

Fish always seems boring to me, do you have any good recipes?

I love any white fish (or salmon too) baked/ steamed in tinfoil with some lemon/ lemon juice and sometimes a *little* drizzle of olive oil seasoned with black pepper and some optional herbs. If you get to like veg you can use sliced onion too, the hubster likes to eat the onion as well but I just leave it.

    Might have that tonight actually.....

Also, a nice bit of cod poached in milk with a poached egg is good.
  • Oo I like onions :) I may well try that this weekend! Thank you!

  • Freeze the blueberries and eat them like sweets!

There goes the mindset again...dark leaves are not traditional salad stuff as they have a flavour all of their own, not just watery and nothingy. Took me a while to try it. Baby spinach is my favourite.

Risotto rice cooked in vegetable or tomato stock with some frozen sweetcorn would go really well with the beef :)

I like lamb's lettuce too. And adding just a few leafy herbs like fresh basil or coriander really zings up a salad. Just a few leaves mixed in with the lettuce is all you need.
  • Morning all :) the veg free risotto went down ok.. i used some extra lean mince. And put it in with some rice cooked in beef stock. It got boring quickly as it was really salty. Im considering buying a jacket potato at work today, but i know it will be cold and been stood for hours when i buy it so its not that appealing.it defeats the object of buying hot food and having to microwave it before eating really...
the blue berries got turned into an oaty slice thing. Was really nice. I even fed it to ppl at work so i didnt eat it all to myself :-D
despite all the fruit im eating i feel really run down and yuk.i cant stay awake! I felt better eating sh1te all day... But i will persevere.. i have jeans to make loose.

  • I promise the yukkiness is temporary, it's because you're not stuffing yourself with refined sugar - you might also get a bit of a headache, but you'll feel much better in a couple of days max!

Risotto sounds quite nice - next time dice up some peppers and onions reeeeeeally small (Mr A's frozen diced onions are awesome) and cook that in too - bulks it out, gives a nice flavour and the veg hide enough (and sometimes disintegrate totally - bonus) that you won't notice them. Also I bung a spoonful of Marmite in things like this but I know that's not for everyone ;)

Nice work on the oaty slice!

  • ive had almost 9 years of empty promises from the council re my house. end of my tether now with them.
ive behaved with food so far today. breakfast was 2 slices of toast lightly spread with some buttery rip off spread. lunch was 2 ryvitas with low fat cheese spread, a bag of skips and an activia yogurt. gotta behave as its vegless stew (has potatoes in) n dumplings . according to the myfitnessapp thingy on my phone ive got 528 calories left to play with. that will be a big fruit salad with another yogurt over it for pudding. as ive only had a glass of pure apple juice earlier today. back to work tomorrow. :( (snow providing)
