I didn't know there was a difference until I started to use this site. (Apart from Electron and Solo cards).
    Bad luck breeds bad luck.

    Damn I'm doomed.
  • I think that's the idea, they don't want to create a stigma of people carrying a card that says "my credit isn't very good".

Sounds like the natwest blue debit card is like the Vanquis of credit cards.

  • their new prices are a complete rip-off IMO.

For an extra £2.05p you get much improved phone insurance and the car breakdown cover is now national recovery (level 4) whereas before it was within a 10 mile radius. Plus the national trust days out.

It's only a rip off if you don't use those particular benefits, in the whole scheme of things i think it's worth the hike.
    Mortgage 1: May 2012 £90,000 April 2020: £47,000
    Mortgage 2: £270,000😱 Jan 2019 £253,000 April 2020

Sorry, but you can get roadside cover in any car and national recovery from the AA for £80 a year.

Depending on your phone you can get phone insurance for a couple of quid a month.

    So, what, £10-£12 a month compared to Natwest's £17...

Not for expensive smartphones, provided that you really need this insurance.
That said, all mobile insurances are very poor value for money for the majority of people and often it is free to add the phone to home content insurance.

However, you can get £19 cashback on £80 AA cover that makes it £61.

    Protect your Bubble - iPhone 5 16Gb - £5.99 a month. Galaxy S3 the same, S2 £5.49. So pretty similar.

I don't think their paid for accounts are good value for money, unless you can make use of all the benefits available. Which is what I said in post #5! Selective quoting to suit one's argument again ;)
