Kilner Jar Gaskets?

The freezer is now about full with blackberries and apples yet the wind brings more windfalls which need dealing with.
In the old days we used Kilner Jars a couple of boxes of which still haven't been thrown out. The problem is I can't use them because I can't find or buy replacement gaskets to ensure a good seal or replacement lids which Kilner used to make. Bottling is so much better than freezing as you don't have to defrost, you simply take the lid off and eat, and once they are bottled unlike freezers they don't deteriorate and storage doesn't have any effect on your electricity bill.
Anyone know of a source of Kilner Jar gaskets?

You often see them at car boot sales but then you'd need to check seals etc on those0

Ive got some similar to kilner jars from the local pound shop. Just have to keep looking as that sort of thing sells out quickly. I use mine to make pickled lemons and limes :P mmm :PMember no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

I have now found a place which supplies the actual gaskets for all sizes of kilner jars.

They sell them at £9.90 including post/packing for 20 or a bit cheaper for bulk buying. Still a bit pricey but hopefully I'll be able to use them more than once so reducing the cost a bit.My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

If you are new to Kilner Jars you should know that the Gaskets are just rubber rings (they have to be food grade and heat resistant) that fit between the jar and a glass disk.
If your Kilner jars haven't got a glass disk and an orange plastic or metal ring that holds the disk and ring tightly to the jar while it's cooling, then you need the replacement metal sealing disks which Trafalgar linked to in the second reply.
I've got some jars with glass disks and some without so needed both rubber rings and metal sealing disks. You only need one set of orange plastic or metal sealing bands as once the jars have sealed you can take the bands off clean the jars & bands and use the bands for the next batch of bottling .
Did the first lot yesterday and all have sealed so that's a good start.
The chap supplying the rings (address above) may be expensive but as I only ordered then late on Wednesday it was good to get them by return post so I could bottle on Friday. My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program
