It’s been a while but ive been trying to keep up with the thread from my daily email update while ive been snowed under.

I vagely remember a few questions from last time I posted so here goes! (And thank you for all the kind comments about my work too!).

Jakesbakescakes – The wool for the blanket is Patons Smoothie DK – I love it and there are loads of variegated balls available too just incase you’re like me and can’t decide on one color!

Dakota86 - Love the Disney Afghan (yes, that’s how far back I am!)

Maria – Love the owls & the quilt. And yes, I agree – Pinterest is just too addictive. By the time you’ve caught up on forums, FB & Pinterest you’ve lost hours! Don’t envy you on the number of squares you’re cutting for your new quilt!

Ailsb – great work. The eye is especially stunning

Sk00bie – You’re quite possibly married now so Congratulations! I love all your wedding makes especially the broach bouquet. Where in Vegas did you get married?

Sweetcarer – Love the purplework. You must have the patience of a saint!

Carlamarie – The wooden sign is great.

Argh, didn’t realise the Daily Mail knitting thing was a token collect – I just emailed my MIL that weekend and asked her to save me the thing with the magazine as they only get it at the weekend. If i’d known I would have brought it all week (or for however long I needed too).

Went to the Cake & Bake Show in Manchester on Friday and loved it. As I have my own cake making business I went a bit mad on new ‘toys’ to play with – oops!

Ninno820 – I love the Christmas Pic, it was such a bargain too! I didn’t realise the Works did Cross Stitch Kits.

Julie67 - So sorry to hear your sad news. You’re crochet though – fab! I just can’t get the hang of reading the patterns for that or knitting.

    Morning all,

I've had a bit of a breakthrough, I've finally managed to suss out why my blankets were going wrong. I was dropping a stitch at either end. Thanks to some help from the crochet thread on the old style board and another u tube video I've got it sorted and managed 4 pr 5 rows of my pram blanket so I shall get on with that today.
I also picked up an old American pattern yesterday for a cross stitch project which I'm reall excited about.
Whilst in the charity shops I also picked up two lovely books, one on baby knitting and crochet and the other more general projects. They are both very old fashioned but I love them:j. I only spent a fiver in total:money:
I'm planning on buying a couple of more crochet hooks this weekend and I really want to get some chunky wool for a thicker larger blanket.
Where do you all generally get your supplies from? Ideally I'd like to go and pick up rather than wait for the post.
I shall post pics of my finds shortly x

    UPDATE
    [STRIKE]1. decoupage kitchen table
    [/STRIKE]2. 20 x Christmas cards
    3. 20 x Birthday Cards
    4. Baby something due in June (embroidered onesies?)
    5. Wedding something due in Aug (still unknown)
    6. Parrot x stitch (parents WA) due in Oct
    7. Spain x stitch (in laws WA) due in Dec
    8. 6 x chair backs and matching cushions (green/white striped)
    9. Lion latch hook rug (hmm miles to go)
    10. Yellow silk undies (am going to master my sewing machine somehow - pattern unloacted still)
    11. MP bookmark x 2 (spanish hill town 9BS left to do) and ice cream one)
    12. Handbags x 2
    13. Christmas stockings x 5

I have been sidetracked quite hugely (stash expanding) - though have made a pair of cufflinks for my BIL birthday now and realised that all the sewing machine stuff I have to do during leave - nothing like adding pressure to it all. :rotfl:

I have got cards made BUT need to finish some ebellishments on them and count them as I do them a little ad hoc...
Now just need to convinve DH not to come up with more projects - he has a beach brolley for me to make a new cover for (as well as recane a rocking chair:eek:)
Loving all the makes and have just got back into reading all the threads and keeping uptodate hope its the kick up the btm i need to crack on.

My list so far, I've changed it slightly as I've fallen in love with crochet and its soo much quicker than knitting.

    1. Baby blanket,
    2. 1 pairs of bootees crocheted
    3. Sign for baby's door but will need his or her name
    4. Crochet coasters x 6 one completed
    5. Crochet cardigan baby

Just thought I'd update my list as I have some time this morning

    1. Baby Blanket, underway :j
    2. Leaving the bootees until I'm better at crochet:o
    3. Changed this to a lovely cross stitch I picked up yesterday to go in baby's room, and I can start now as it doesn't need a name or sex:D
    4. Coasters, two completed 4 to go
    5. Not started yet
    6. Fabulous cardigan for myself but need to be much better at crochet

Not sure on the others yet, I shall let you know when I do x
