Soulie - I haven't got the chance to know you either yet but wish you all the best with your treatment.

I have done most of the backstitch on OH's valentines gift just one more evening should do it. I have also stitched two out of the four Easter cards I am planning on doing so halfway there on those.

I have updated the list so we are in alphabetical order, saves a lot of time for me, and I have updated people's total finishes.
If I have made an error, or deleted your name by accident, please let me know.

Thank you for the welcome back and kind wishes :D

Well done in making it in alphabetical order - makes it easier for us too. I have completed two but you don't have to up date it now as I am close to completing 3.

So glad you are on the mend - been thinking of you.

    Kind wishes

    welcome back Soulie
thank you for setting up this thread. To start with i was worrying thinking ill never get all 13 done as its less than a month on each but with the extra incentive ive already managed to finish 2 projects and 3 are works in progress and to be honest i probably wouldn't have got started on any of them yet so you have really helped me sort my stash and get a start on organizing some of this years presents.
love looking at this thread as everyone projects are so different and inspiring

Have added two more things to my list - gradually getting to thirteen! They're not in any order but the good news for me is that I've actually started on number 6 - I started it soon after moving to this house (having seen some really lovely cross stitching displayed in a cottage we viewed) but life got in the way and it's been in a drawer for the past four years. Hoping 2013 will be the year it gets finished.
    1. Make cushion or toy from grandson's baby clothes
    2. Ditto from grandaughter's outgrown clothes
    3. Make candles in unusual but lovely holders for Christmas pressies
    4. Crochet a flower brooch for me (assuming I learn to crochet)
    5. Sew a very glamorous coat for daughter's chihuahua
    6. Complete cross stitch started in 2008
    7. Make cushion cover for sister's Christmas present (dog motif or other dog related ideas)
    8. Customise window blinds
I'm working on my cross stitch at the moment but this is the first one I've done so can anyone advise me what you normally do about framing? Do you frame them yourself and, if you do, do you do anything special to 'stretch' the fabric? My Mum cross stitched a sampler back in 2000 and I had it professionally framed recently and it cost me over £40 :eek:so I'd rather not do that this time if I can avoid it.

peppa im sure if you google there is bound to be a lacing tutioial on you tube or somewhere, sorry ive not got time at the mo as im in school this morning.
if its a small stitch i use double sided tape after ive washed ironed and made sure piece is bone dry but i have laced a bigger piece onto a backing board in the past -ages ago so cant quite remember how now.
i know what you mean about framing properly being expensive, some pieces are worth it but if you do it every time it makes them very expensive presents.

    Morning all

Well I am pleased to announce DH's Lickle ted is now finished :jJust got to find a frame for it which I hope to do today, but I am counting it as completed as no more stitching to do. Can't post a pick I am afraid as my laptop is still kaput and I haven't set up flickr on DH's lappy yet.

Have also finished another easter card so 2/4 on those.

Now off to start a stargazer lily to make into a cushion for my mums birthday. Thankfully it has no backstitch - yeh.
  • Ive come on to confess I have not started any of my projects

I have been acquiring bits and bobs to help me but just have not started

I have decided my target is to scrapbook my Paris photos as I collect them on Tuesday by next Sunday :)

I've thought of something to add to my list - a button picture. I'm thinking of either a square or a heart made of vintage-style wooden buttons and framed (I'm watching some really nice buttons on ebay at the moment). Not sure yet it if will be pressie or to be kept - have to see how it turns out first. So I've now got a list of 9 things!!!
    1. Make cushion or toy from grandson's baby clothes
    2. Ditto from grandaughter's outgrown clothes
    3. Make candles in unusual but lovely holders for Christmas pressies
    4. Crochet a flower brooch for me (assuming I learn to crochet)
    5. Sew a very glamorous coat for daughter's chihuahua
    6. Complete cross stitch started in 2008
    7. Make cushion cover for sister's Christmas present (dog motif or other dog related ideas)
    8. Customise window blinds
    9. Button picture/collage - pressie or to keep
