I must be ahead of myself..
I've been here a couple of years already. Love this place. Simply the best place ever to find like minded people, dealing with all the same rubbish you are and giving you endless ideas, creativity and a generous helping hand!!!
I keep forgetting the ticket too Cream Tea.I will remember friday!

You're so right Lilt, imagine how much harder our journeys would be without everyone here...even when we're just talking to ourselves!

Really I am far too MSE to be relying on a lotto win for retirement...that's not to say I don't have a lottery direct debit though...I definitely do!

How could I have forgotten to tell you, diary, that I paid off my only individual credit card off before Christmas? It was awesome
it was a couple of days before crimbo so it was a good xmas pressie to myself! I called them and closed the card so that's all done and dusted. Just the joint debt to go now. I've made all of the payments to the loan and 2x CCs this month but will hopefully have some more to thrown onto it before the end of the month as long as the rent and CSA comes in.
I got a call from the CSA people before Christmas to say that Littlie's dad has told them of an increase in his pay so I'll get more money and a little bit backdated. Pigs might fly eh! (CSA are usually rubbish and Littlie's dad is not usually so forthcoming!)
We had so little in the cupboards this week that we did a massive £109 shop at the weekend. It should last us the month minus milk but it felt awful spending all of that moneyit did feel good to refill Mother Hubbards cupboards though.
So, signature updated - 17 months to go...cannot wait!

Well done on CC and how exciting to see more money from little ones dad. Two bits of good news!Mortgage [STRIKE]£269,000[/STRIKE] £258,987 / MF date [STRIKE]June'49[/STRIKE] June'49

Fingers crossed on the money front from little fellas dad!! I know what you mean about it not being so easy to get usually. Hope it does appear though
YAY for signature, and even more so for the paid off credit card!! Excellent newsyou are doing brilliantly. I know about the mother hubbard things. I have a reverse mother hubbard going on. I can barely close the cupboards. By the end of this month half of it will have been used up (she says, having just stocked up more today!)
There is obviously an apocalyptic zombie war coming. My subconscious knows this but hasn't put in in my diary yet, so is just prompting mass stockpiling of chickpeas. :rotfl:Lovely to see you back!! xx

Definitely good news Cream Tea! Although I thought it was a free council tax month, but it still came out. Grr annoying! I'll give them a ring to check butI bet it's right!
I give the CSA a hard time because they have been rubbish in the past but they seem to be better now - I get the right amount on the right days. Littlie's dad (we'll call him A) is terrible with money and has borrowed/stolen a lot from his dad (and me and Littlie) so his dad now controls all of A's money. It works well for me because I'd never get anything if it wasn't for A's fear of his dads wrath!
Thanks Lilt1 down, 3 to go! Goodness, how long will the chickpeas last?? I remember being forced to eat chickpeas (not literally I might add ha) when I was a child so I'd rather offer myself as a human sacrifice than eat the horrible things!! (although I'm sure that you make them taste delicious!)

It is free council tax month!!! It starts all over again 1st April so Feb & March are the months off!! Don't tell me it came out
I daren't look now!! Lol.
Chickpeas will last for... a couple of weeks :rotfl: - I use them to bulk out things like curries which I make with spice powders, coconut milk, ground almonds and greek yoghurt so they are pretty amazing!! I have to be honest they have a lovely texture and I prefer them to the bits of chicken. But I was never force fed these things as a child. I remember similar uproar when I cooked stuffed marrow when it was in season. FiL and MiL went pale and so many people recounted horror stories. It was our favourite summer meal!!
A seems like a total waste of space. Yay for his dad!!although sad some people still need their parents to control their finances. Am glad it works out well for you regardless!!
xx
