Hey you
I have indeed bounced back. A few things hit me hard, remembrance day, friends struggling with loss, and the awful advert on tv asking for help solving hunger in the UK. Never thought I would see that.
Anyways I am back from doom and gloom land and much happier overall.
Hugs and thanks for the PM. Laptop is in 2 pieces but I have bodged it with a screen borrowed from work for the minutexx

Hello MSEers.
I seem to do these "I'm back" messages far too often! I have been so busy!
I'm still getting my head around the new job. The lack of training is still stressful and I can't say I enjoy it. I'm sure that I will when I feel like I know what I am doing. No, no, lets be positive...It is definitely getting easier and my confidence is improving so I feel better (need this on repeat!)
Littlie is mega busy. Like, mega. Football three times a week, gymnastics, karate, diving, trampolining, Lego club and orchestra club after school, keyboard lessons in school time. How he does it, I don't know. It's all out of his choice and I'm proud that he loves being so active. My bank account frowns at him but supports him anyway! If I can afford it and it keeps him happy, then I'm happy (and totally shattered) too!
The debt is going down slowly but surely. It's not going as fast as I would like as the house still has bits to do before it's finished but it is getting there. From Feb, more will be thrown at the debt and we can look at getting that debt-free date brought forward.
Must do eBay this weekend. Anyone else starting to really dislike eBay? It's changed, the people have changed. I don't like!
Anyway, I will be here more often. I will!

WOW at littlie. Your bank account must cry each month! Well done him though. That is an awful lot of stuff to add to a CV eventually so that even without work experience it is obvious he enjoys activity, hard work and challenges!
I detest ebay. Between the charges increasing, paypal charging (which is I am sure the only reason they are splitting the two up!) and the people being scum of the earth who just look to get something, complain and get their money back... which of course eBay supports 100% for some reason. I've given up. I would rather give stuff away!
Welcome backno twins eh?!
xx

Hi Lilt, yes he costs me a small fortune! Good job we love 'em eh! He's so determined, I know where he gets it from though - I only have myself to blame!!
That's my problem with eBay too, if you sell something on there for 99p you lose such a large chunk in fees, it's barely worth it. I sold a mirror on there a couple of weeks ago but they've yet to pick it up blaming the weather - we don't live in the Antarctic I might give gumtree a go for the bigger bits.
Haha no twins yet couldn't afford the activities for 3 littlies!!

We've been eating the weirdest concoctions to try and stay away from the supermarkets. Last night was a kind of sausage curry/casserole thing. Surprisingly, Littlie wolfed it down and said it was delicious. There's enough left over for his tea tonight. Then we pressed out the cookie dough that he made at the weekend into ninjas, gingerbread men and cows (obviously!) and baked them for pudding. It was a bit rushed so wasn't a relaxed baking session but it was fine and he was happy.
The last couple of days have been a little difficult. Nothing too bad but the discovery that maybe my bf and I aren't on the same page when it comes to debt-busting. He has a balance on a credit card that he hasn't paid off and doesn't seem that concerned about - I thought it was long gone . He doesn't know the exact balance and thinks it's about £10-£15 in interest per month. I get annoyed that we're (I'm) putting everything into getting our debt paid off (I arrange and organise it all) and he's paying interest that could quite quickly get out of hand. He's taking money for lunch when he could take something etc. Then I try and find ways that he can pay it off... and it sounds like I'm nagging, which I am! Just really irritates me!
Glad that's off my chest ha. Tonight's post will be much more positive!!

I have a similar situation with DH up until very recently. My DH couldn't get excited until it was almost all sorted. Now he is all over the money saving and calculating, shame we couldn't have the same level of enthusiasm from the start.
Keep your head up and in the mean time look into a 0% interest CC with balance transfer and set it up for him so you don't have to worry about that.

It sounds similar Cream Tea! I'm putting in all the leg work. It is disheartening. Thanks for the advice - I'll suggest it, but he can do it!! It's a comfort to know that it's not just me!!

Right then, enough of the huffing!! My bf is a fantastic person and I can't expect him to be on a MSE mission because he hasn't chosen to be. I will get us debt-free and will try to bring him to the dark side in the process :rotfl:
So, that pesky debt...we got a cheque from the company that delivered our bed as compensation for them scuffing our freshly painted walls and ceiling. It cleared today so half went to bf for his CC and my half went onto the debt. I've mentioned before that I owe money into the house because bf paid our deposit (see, he is fab!) so that £37.20 has come off my "house debt".
Littlie had sausage curry/casserole stuff again tonight...and a homemade cookie...and a frube...and a little pack of Mini Cheddars. Doesn't the little monkey know that we're supposed to be saving money? :rotfl: I'm having chicken curry and will also be making a big lasagne with mince and lentils to bulk it out. So that'll go in the freezer in portions. I might make some bread rolls too depending on how much time I have.
Can you believe that it's Feb at the end of this week? How has that happened? By Monday all of the direct debits will have come out so I can see how the debt-free plan is looking and adjust next months payments. I love the first week of the month - sad eh!
Oh and yesterday I realised that I don't have to do my first self assessment tax form yet as I didn't get any rent from the flat in the last tax year. I was mega happy! I hadn't realised I needed a code which takes 10 working days so I would've been too late and would've got a fine. I've signed up for my code now so well in advance of next January!! No fines for Sholly :j
Wow, I've babbled today!

I've just noticed that it sounds like I'm not feeding bf tonight!! He's on nightshift!! He hasn't been that naughty!
xx0 -
LOL it never even occurred to me you hadn't fed Mr Sholly. Littlie sounds like he is on a growth spurt!
Nice evening to yourself of spreadsheets and plotting ahoy eh?
I just said to the woman in the pharmacy when I was writing the date on my prescription card... I cannot believe we are one month down already at the end of the week! It gets faster every year. In just over 2 months Jellytot will be 3
