Well, 8 days later, and after practically having to BEG to cancel the contract, it is done. Dusted. Finished. Terminates on 13th February (We'll see).

The guy got very shirty with me on the phone though asking me why I got the sim only if I didn't want to keep it (Sim Zero = no line rental), offered to bar incoming and outgoing calls if I kept the line open (after which I asked what's the point of that - why not just cancel it? LOL)

In the end I told him if I didn't get a cancellation there and then I'd make a formal complaint to OFCOM. He then confirmed it was cancelled.

I was considering a Three contract when my Full Monty deal ends, but this experience has put me off for life.

I will never EVER sign up with Three on a contract!! I don't care how good the deal may be!!

EDIT: Oooo... just got a survey from 3 in my inbox. This should be fun! :)
I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂

I had bother trying to cancel a contract I had for my daughter, eventually managed it in one call but had to repeat my request several times and very clear and firm that i wanted to cancel. I've been on 3 PAYG since last June and really can't fault it,for data nothing comes close(I'm prepared to be corrected!!). I'm pretty sure I wouldn't take out another contract with them unless their CS situation changes dramatically.
• Now I need to find a new network this whole thing has really put me off having a contract may switch to payasugo? Any advice? Thanks for the feedback!

I suggest SIM only 1 month rolling contract with any network of your choice. No long term commitments, no hassle, great value for money (loads more minutes and texts than contracts with phone or payg).
I've got one and am very pleased with it.

Don't bother trying to swap a number with Three, they are hopeless. I have been trying for more than two weeks to swap from a full sized pay as you go SIM to a "One Plan" nano sized SIM.

Daily calls to them, two e-mails of complaint to firstly their CEO, then to the CEO's support team. Still it is beyond their capability to swap SIMs/numbers/PAYG to contract and get it right.

If it wasn't for their "One Plan" features that I need (ability to use tethering, totally unlimited internet, no issues with using VOIP such as Skype, etc) then I would swap to another provider in an instant.

Anyone else needing to e-mail their CEO, he is David Dyson (david.dyson@three.co.uk) and his office staff use Executive.Office@three.co.uk

Don't expect a quick resolution though...
