Can anyone tell me: If you want to move from 3 PAYM to 3 PAYG can they do it with the same sim or do they need to send you one out?
I have had a sim zero contract running for about 2-3 years now - only been used to send 1 text message however I want to get the DD off my account as it'll never be used and it's an open account on my credit file.
I did actually lose the sim a year ago but when I called to terminate they just told me they'd send a new sim out and would not cancel the line - their argument being as I was paying £0 for the line just stop using it.
Not the point... I was going to see if they'd convert to PAYG easier, then I can ditch the sim and leave it to die after 6 months...I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0 -
hmmm, I've cancelled 2 contracts with 3 and although there was a lot of pressure to stay with them, I managed to cancel on the 1st call0

Three shops wont have anything to do with it.They will just tell you to call customer services...They are a nightmare!0

Still failing to get through, keep me on the musak/messages for around 20 minutes and then it cuts off.
Local 3 store very unimpressed with the call centre just now - suggested I write instead. So I have sent a strongly worded complaint to

We eventually told them we were reporting them to OFCOM - cancelled the contract very shortly after. You do have to be very firm and cut them off mid-sentence to make it clear you won't stand for their BS. Whole call took 25 mins total, which is frankly scandalous. I do agree they are a total nightmare when it comes to canceling, though.0

I rang 3 to move from contract to PAYG, was on the phone for over 45 minutes, cut off twice by two different customer service advisers, the third adviser eventually moved me to PAYG, after putting me on hold twice to check my records. I had to pay for 30 days from date of cancellation. All three advisers tried to get me onto lower priced monthly contract. My impression was that they would do anything to avoid taking you off contract.
I complained via the website, complaints called in the morning when I specified calling me after 5pm, though at least they confirmed that my contract had been cancelled."We have to be kind because everyone is fighting a great, great battle" - Sir Richard Attenborough

Well I called them at 19:45. It is now 20:30 and I am still on hold - not spoke to anyone yet. Let's hope it doesn't take as long for them to accept my cancellation notice.
Here's a novel idea. Can I ask them for termination to start from today as long as I am happy to pay 30 days notice upfront? (As my line rental is £0 a month could be a quick way LOL)
EDIT: 1 hour 19 mins and counting... still waiting...
