charges relating to recovery company for keeping my car

Good news guys today CMG call me up saying I only need to pay them £150 for recovery and another £50 for bringing it to my house. Which is a sigh of relief as they first wanted £800 off me. I think they tried to profit from me as I think the police and the recovery company are on it making secret deals under the table and racking up huge fines to the owner without any written clarification. I think CMG got worried when I told them last time on my phone to them when they demanded £800 that I will be seeking legal advice and they should send me something in writing. Do you think I should still pay the £200 that they demand now because before they demanded £800 off me. I prayed last night from the bottom of my heart to god to sort this out and god is helping me one way or another. It just shows how having a little faith in god can go a long way.
If you had told us what you've been charged with maybe there is a way out of the £150 recovery charge.0 -
They have offered you the car back for £200. If you dont take them up they have a legitimate reason to add more charges. So will be easy for them to easily increase the costs.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

Thing is it looks like the garage are trying it on as the recovery charge has been paid by the police. If we knew what power the vehicle was seized under we could save him the £150.0 -
Guys I have done some further research on this topic and came across a law which they took my car for forensics. They took my car by using the police and evidence act (1984) under this act they should not charge me statutory fees. The statutory fee is the recovery fee the £150 pounds now that they want from me plus the £50.
The full paragraph says " Charges for vehicles removed for forensic purposes The statutory charges prescribed by these Regulations are payable only in respect of a vehicle removed under the RTRA 1984 or Refuse Disposal (Amenity) Act 1978. Any vehicle that is dangerously, obstructively or illegally parked, or broken down, or
abandoned can be removed under these powers. If, however, the police solely for forensic purposes remove a vehicle that is not in such a situation, they do so under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 (PACE), not under either of these Acts and there
is no power to levy a charge for the removal . Similarly, PACE has no provision to charge owners for the storage or disposal of vehicles kept for forensic purposes. The Regulations do not apply to vehicles dealt with under PACE."
Since my car was not dangerously, obstructively or illegally parked, or broken down, or abandoned the previous two acts don't apply. Since they took my car from my house for forensics investigation then this means they used the the police and evidence act (1984) act to take my car away. which means I should not be charged any fees. So i'm guessing the police and the cmg recovery company are trying to make money out of my misery.0 -
Ask the recovery company why the £2000+ the police paid doesn't cover the recovery and delivery.0

It's standard practice to release the vehicle at the garage. That's why it doesn't include delivery.0 -
Marlot, Thanks I'm just so worried about my trial and whats going to happen to me. I can't go to sleep at night as I keep worrying about the trial as the date is coming closer day after day. Pray for me as you can never know perhaps god might listen to someone else's prayer and might help me. But I will keep on praying for my self everyday until my trial comes. It's times like this when we get ourselves into a mess that we remember god. It's a shame on me I should have prayed more and should of been more religious. Then perhaps I could of been more stronger and wouldn't have listened to the wispers from the devil in my ear putting bad thoughts into my head and making me do wrong only if I had a stronger heart and turned to god earlier I wouldn't of found myself in this mess. I hope god answers my prayers soon and helps me.

Abduction, rape, etc.Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit a wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it0
