This is a better list, the original one has 4 letter combinations of letters and this is a list of actual words, even if it contains words that might not be used (like anus) it would search much faster than the old one. My question is how can you paste the words vertically into the spreadsheet? To do this manually would take ages!

People that are asking how it works... just trust that when you have all the right info in the right boxes and the site is open, it keeps trying the missing 'last word' with the words from the list on the second page of the excel file and when it finds it, the voodoo within the file stops and tells you which word it is that's missing. I was the first person to find the missing word last April and I had never used it before... Luck or easy?? no idea! lol

I spent my afternoon off trying to learn visual basic but I didn't get very far! I wanted to know why I have to keep clicking the button to try each word ... why doesn't the voodoo work for me? Is it because excel 2003 is too old? :(

It is because ie.document.body.all.Item(7).innertext does not exists on the the ukholidaysinthesun.co.uk page at the moment. It won't exist until the webpage is online the evening before the last code is printed.

Actually the spreadsheet has the 4-letter words from the scrabble list and while some may not be common, they are all real. At least that's what I put in when I made it, someone may have changed it since then. If there is a useful cut-down list we could use instead then it might be worth looking at. Getting it into a nice list is pretty easy with a text editor. Where did the list you quoted originate? Is it reliable?

Is this the most up-to-date incarnation of the cracker? Do we know if it's worked with 10 codes before?

That's it Jellyhead, as I said trust the voodoo, it opens an internet explorer page and you can watch the last word changing as it goes through the list starting at whatever number you have in the 'start at line box' then the booking page is opened when the correct 'last word' is entered.... alternatively just watch this forum and wait until someone posts the final words and save some stress and grief lol

as for sending me the file, thanks for trying anyway  :rotfl:

I just quoted Mr Doovde, the spreadsheet is amazing and worked perfectly for me last year, i was just agreeing with others that many of the words would be very unlikely to be used by The Sun as one of the codes. Not sure where Mr Doovde got the list from.... I did notice Abba was missing so that and that could be a word they use?? Maybe better to get LOTS of people starting at different letters and do the whole list like last time :D

I meant last time I tried to code crack I had to keep clicking the button. Never mind, I'll try again this year :) I'm having trouble concentrating at the moment after a series of headaches, so hopefully by Saturday I'll be less woolly headed and might be able to concentrate better instead of just moaning on here :D

The loop thingy in the macro looks like it should work but I've never used visual basic so who knows. My relatives (who don't 'do' internet) are eagerly awaiting the cracked code :D

I volunteer for code breaking, as long as it's after 3pm. Maybe if we can get 9 of us we could all start at intervals of 500.

Mr Doovde is running the thread but I am willing to be one of the helpers, by number or starting letters??
