Hiya this is my 1st post on a thread so am very new :) I was just wondering if anyone knows much about the caravans we are planning on having 5 of us go but want a 3 bed caravan will they give us 3 bedrooms for 5 people of do we add couple of people on the list and pay 7 people so looks like more are in the caravan any advise please will be great full. We went last year had a 2 bed caravan but was only 3 people sharing. Thanks

Usually (but not always), if you are 6 people booking you end up with a 2 bed caravan with the expectation that 2 will sleep in the living room. We have a teenager who is fine in the living room but not any good for the other 3 kids as they are all under age 9, so need to go to bed earlier. So we tend to put an extra person on the form and pay for a 7th person as they then have to give you an extra room. it seems to work out cheaper than upgrading as we obviously dont bother getting no. 7, entertainment passes etc. but it also gives us the option of the teenager bringing a mate who can sleep in the living room with her.

All the 'paris' sites are about 3 hours from calais. We stayed in le chene gris last october. It was perfectly located and we had a lovely van with decking. Best bit was there is a train station at the actual entrance to the site!

We used it primarily as a base to explore paris. Would stay there again
Thank you for replying! How long did it take for you to get to Paris? Also was it expensive? There is four of us, two adults and two children.

    i always take 5 people,
i book for 5 and then when they send you an invoice to pay the rest u have the choice to added an extra bedroom, which i always do,
i normally go to haven and they have always charged me an extra £15 for the 3rd bedroom,
in oct i booked for park resorts i rang them to get the extra bedroom they wanted an extra £45 so i said i would stick to the 2 bed,
when we arrived they had put us in a 3 bed anyway so am glad i didnt pay it :rotfl:

the last few times ive booked online it has always opened on a sat normally between 3-7pm,
its never crashed on me but am sure more and more people are realising that they open it up early so it might do xx

i suppose it depends how much hassle packing up is? also we take our own linen so moving would mean i had to make the beds up twice

Same here. We had a three and a four night booking in france in october. Luckily we didn't have to move. I would have hated to. We take our own linen toaster and even our own mini oven and fan heaters ( some of the european vans dont have these), so it would be a real hassle having to pack up and move. Also i like to get all settled in and cosy:)
Hoping for another 7 nighter in europe again tha time. :D
  • when we went to bunn leisure last year we were given a platinum carvan with 3 bedrooms that slept 8. for us two adults and a 3 year old it was lovely and spacious :) we had two toilets which we were impressed with too lol. this was without upgrading anything

several times I have booked for 3 people and have been given a 3 bed caravan. so if you really need it then upgrade but if you are not that fussed then wait and see what you get and you will probably get one. I have booked for 5 people 3 times at haven and have always been given a 3 bed. hth
