Apologies for sounding really dim, I know some have commented that they got a letter with a reference number on to start them off, due to booking previously on a previous offer.

How would one start if they never received a letter? I've never brought the Sun or anything so I am a bit of a newbie to all this!! Just trying to save a bit of money on the holidays this year so wanted to take every deal that comes our way - but I have no idea where I would apply for a reference number for this deal from?
The first time you apply for a holiday you have to do a postal method. Collect the tokens from the newspapers and send off the booking form

then every time after that you *should* receive a priority booking ref number enabling you to book online :)

    Thanks for all the help!
I might think about booking a second holiday!!

Are all the Europe destinations, camping or ones where you take your own caravan??
Are any with the static type caravans?

lol no you don't take your own outfit !

it's mainly statics with some chalet tents too
  • For everyone asking about Ester half term and Haven I booked 3 nights at Burnham on Sea Haven site but booked it through the Daily Mail (Breakfree) holidays rather than the Sun offer as the price was the same and their site opened a week earlier than the Suns offer.

It was really easy, the booking site was much more user friendly than the Sun one and I didn't need a priority code.

I have also booked a 7 night holiday in Brittany with the Sun's offer. Weve gone on lots of Sun holidays before but this will be our first European one. I am pleased as we got the dates we wanted (week before the school summer holidays start) as there is a teacher training day on the Friday my LO will only miss 4 days of school.

I am pleased we got the dates but the holiday has cost more than I thought as I had to book the ferry seperately without the Sun discount. I was not aware when I booked it that there were dates when you could not get the ferry offer, I only found out after when he ferry booking site would not let me book the dates. Saying that the holiday would have cost us a lot more if we had booked it through the usual holiday companies. I'm very excited, two holidays to look forward to :j just have a bit more saving to do than I originally thought

Ahh shame about the ferry. Hope you enjoy your first european sun holiday though, even if the cost was a bit more than you bargained for! They're really great. Wish i'd started doing them sooner.
where are you off to in brittany?. So many lovely sites to choose from..
Burnham's lovely BTW, been a few times, but not fr 3 or 4 years.

Thnks, we're going to La Grande Metairie, I have read a few mixed reviews about the site but hopefully it will be okay, the facilities on site look amazing. we've been to North Brittany a few times and love it so I thought I would try the south side for a change.

We picked the Burnham on Sea site as my Mum went last year and siad how nice it was. Its not too far to travel for us either which helps keep the cost down so we can save more for our summer holiday. :D

I've been to La Grande Met for the last 2 years, it's a really nice site, I think the only drawback is you need to drive down to the beach or the town. There is a bottom entrance to the site as well as the main top entrance, and it is quicker to use the bottom entrance, the first time we went we didn't discover the bottom entrance until the last day!

Tried ringing Butlins to take off entertainment passes as going to Butlins Minehead. Been several times before and they never ask to see a wrist band or whatever. Any else had this?

    Hi
I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this?
I booked and paid the sun newspaper costs for my holiday the day the site became live. ie: Saturday 12 January, 2013. My holiday is 28 October at Thorness Bay IOW. On 18 January I received email from Park Resorts saying I need to pay the balance within 14 days failure to do so may result in cancellation. Suspecting this email may be slightly 'dodgey' I phoned the park direct and they advised me they had never heard of this, and advised me that I should receive details of my holiday, balance to pay, and when, and any upgrades and passes that I may require before my holiday is due. They also asked me to phone head office and advise them of the email I had received, giving me the phone number. I phoned head office and they confirmed the email was from them and that I did indeed need to pay the service charge due before the 14 days expired, which I duly did.

I have been on many of these Sun Holidays, including Park Resorts, for several years, sometimes twice or three times a year, and have never known of this before. I have always been sent conformation of my booking and any service charges due, along with any upgrades and passes that I may require roughly 8 weeks before the holiday is due.

Just to confirm I have received email conformation today of the service charge that I have paid today, I just need to pay for my linen and passes.

Any input would be appreciated on this. Many thanks.

i booked a european holiday to brittany Château des Ormes for the 15/7/2013 and read the t&c before booking all cheap euro travel ended on the 18/7/2013 till september ( peak season ) but for £120 plus service charge of £7 per night what a bargain same holiday with keycamp, canvas and eurocamp cost over £800 so i book a 3 night stay as well starting on the 12/7/13 for £60 euro tunnel return club card vouchers = 35 min drive instead of a dodgy ferry = BARGAIN
