My Sun confirmation said:
Ferry Crossing : Dover To Calais
Departure : Monday 13 May, 2013 - Morning Sailing after 07.00 before 14.00
Return : Friday 17 May, 2013 - Afternoon Sailing after 14.00 before 22.00

I thought they would email some sort of code to put into the P&O website so I could go and choose my own booking time within those slots. Turns out THEY allocate you a time.

Will call them on Monday to see if I can amend it. No doubt they'll charge if it is possible meaning I should have just booked direct as the price will be the same if not more.

i was on the sun website as soon literally as it opened as the word was already known and could not get devon cliffs for easter holidays no dates available so i would guess i was pretty quick

Hmm... Still not that convinced. Have just read back through all the posts since page 47 about what everyones got. Iv not found one who had got Haven in half term time (meaning April to May, October excluded) out of all the people who was trying straight away but read dozens who couldnt get Haven breaks for these half term weeks. Still havnt seen any proof these did exist. Id be interested to hear from anyone who can prove me wrong with Haven dates and parks?:T

i dont believe any of these dates were up for sale as they wouldnt need to fill them as i guess they are already busy they only try to fill what dates they have loads of space of course that is the nature of all these cheap sun/daily mail holidays to get people in when they are quiet so that they still make money. rather than have caravans empty they would like to sell them cheap so people are on site and spending money in other areas

I got on as soon as it opened as was refreshing constantly by that point and we already had the last code word. I tried for october half term to any Haven in any area of wales, followed by any Haven within an hours drive of Peppa pig world. No availability at all only pontins in wales and IOW 'down south'! I couldnt have been any quicker, had all the codes ready and resort nos with dates at the ready, so I'd be surprised if there were any available. I did get Parkdean Tummel valley tho so very happy with that. Last year I got Haven Thorpe Park for Oct half term and that was booking the following day!

Spot on, pinklady. Haven is a business after all and why would they sell holidays for a tiny price when they could fill the park with "full-price" paying punters?

I've never had a problem getting Haven's in October half term principally because the parks are half empty then as people don't want to risk the early winter weather of a British park.

I have enjoyed holidays via the Sun offers to Haven camps at Devon Cliffs, Burnham-on-Sea, Rockley Park, Littlesea, Riviere Sands and Doniford Bay and only one of those was an October break so it is possible, just very difficult.

i have only ever had weekend breaks in term time at all the camps you mention smart mart. Last year i got butlins the week before the kids broke up but this year got butlins may day week.

Hi, iam new so please take it easy with me, last year we went on a 9.50 sun holiday, but we havent had a letter through this year for priority, is it possible to get a sun ref number from anywhere, thanks in advance...

Actually, PL, now you mention it most of my breaks were Friday to Monday ones.

I thought the original poster's point was that they couldn't get ANY breaks during ANY half term holidays. I'm just pointing out that they are available in some cases.
