Thanx for the info. Wots to see and do around the area? We will have a car so travelling will be ok.
If you take a look at thread / post number #1070 i replied to your earlier question but you may have missed it with the amount of different posts on here.
Torbay has so much to offer, but different things appeal to different people and it depends if you have got children with you or not. I have a 6 year old daughter and we never seem to get to do everthing we want to in the area because there is just so much to do. Lots to keep kids entertained. You can have a trip to Torquay and a trip to Brixham as they are both only a few miles away (Paignton is in the middle of the 2) and they are easy to find - you just follow the coast road. You can go to Goodrington beach or get the steam train to Dartmouth0 -

I've been to another Pontins but not that one. Try the website and ask for them to send you a brochure? Or get a brochure from a travel agents in town, if you don't want to be on their mailing list.
They will have a swimming pool and a club-house type place which will have a soft play area.
We didn't spend much time onsite when we went to the Southport one but I remember the crazy golf was free and there was a playpark. My youngest liked the swimming pool. My nephew enjoyed the kids disco entertainment - there was a crocodile character, and somebody in a banana suit iirc.
We weren't keen on the chalet if I'm honest, but a holiday is what you make of it. We've been to the Haven which is pretty close to prestatyn pontins, and the beach has really good sand dunes. If the weather is awful you could go to the big indoor waterpark (rhyl sun centre I think it's called?) and there's a sea life centre.
Wherever we stay in Wales we always end up catching the bus to Llandudno :rotfl:52% tight0 -

Only problem is people seriously tailgating if you're in the fast lane on the motorways... but there's an easy solution there... stay out of the fast lane!
I wouldn't drive anywhere near central Paris having seen how they drive whilst being on a coach - driving to Disneyland is fine (well it was when we did it from the UK - haven't been to any of the France sites yet). I think it's around 12euros to park at Disney and I believe from reading other threads that there may be a 5euro toll each way from La Croix
Thanks, I'll stay clear of driving in central Paris then! Hopefully my satnav will get me to the camp site OK, although last year it took me on a bit of a mystery tour when I was driving to North Wales :rotfl:0 -
Does anyone know if it's easier to get the train to Disney or drive from La Croix De Vieux Pont? I would like to drive as little as possible as not familiar with driving in France (the ex used to do all the driving before)
Yes wondering this too. I think they run a coach from the site. We will
probably only do one day at disney.
I am the only one that wants to go:(
But as far as driving goes in france, it really is much easier than it is

The satnavs (well my Tom Tom) also reminds you to drive the correct way around roundabouts. Mine can sometimes take me to slightly the wrong place - but that's because it's about 7 years old and I've never updated it! I find printing a Google Maps before you go just in case makes me worry less about it. And the French are pretty good with their signposting.0 -

Wherever we get a Sun holiday I always look on the local tourist information websites too ... there might be a 'visit prestatyn' or 'visit wales' brochure you can order, which might tell you about local festivals, fireworks displays etc. around the time of your visit.52% tight0 -

The kids are excited, they love these Sun holidays.
Next dilemma is whether to book something direct now for July / August or wait to see if we can get Devon for these dates in the next round of Sun holidays?
Thanks to all that have contributed.
i hope you have a great time! it rained all week when we were there but the entertainment kept us all occupied. we didnt use the pool, its small but you can use the one on their fellow site next door. they had ballet for the youngters, dance clubs, arts, all sorts. we had breakfast with sparkythe children asked when we are going back they loved it so much. we had a silver caravan (upgraded direct from the site) and it was faultless.
Started comping October 2011, no wins as of yet. Would really love to win a short uk break so we can take the children awayThank you to everyone who takes the times to post competitions and good luck:j
