  • can anyone help me.
From 2002 until 2006 I had a mortgage with Southern Pacific. After only six months or so we got ourselves into arrears. There were various occassions at the court to suspend the warrant.just in time we sold our property in 2006.
Looking back on the statements it shows that aswell as the interest on the arrears we were also paying £25 a month for returned direct debit and also £65 per month in arrears admin fees.Totalling £90 per month over a time of approx 2 and a half years. Can anyone tell me if I have any chance of claiming this or part of what I consider over the top charges.

This is not allowed. If your friend makes his request for information under the Data Protection Act. The MAXIMUM the bank can charge by law is £10 in total.

    Nice letters Monkeysaving;)

Can I please ask why in the first letter you say not to ask for interest at that point?

    Thanks.

    Use this template first...

    (Template snipped)

When I first claimed over a year ago, I tried to engage the bank into a discussion about charges. I tore the points in their letters to shreds in my replies, but to no avial. I couldn't get them to deviate from their standard replies.

Of course they paid up, but it would have been more satisfactory to get some answers. I hope you get more back than I did!
