Yes just take it off the total.0 -
Sorry to be a pain! Would this mean I am claiming slightly more interest than I'm entitled to. As I would have had a charge of £20 and half of that refunded somewhere down the line. But the interest figure calculated for this charge would be interest on top of £20 instead of £10. This sounds really complicated, hope you understand what I mean. Is not knowing the date of the refund a problem? I just want to be 100% sure before I put my claim in. Cheers.0

Is it honestly easy to reclaim the charges yourself, I'm scared about the idea of court etc ...
I have looked into companies that do it for you but they charge so much around 20% plus.....
Any advice would be so greatly appreciated!

I have now found out the date for my refund but when I phoned them up they said it was a £20 refund instead of £10 refund which makes sense. Should I go by the letter which they sent me or what they said on the phone? I don't fully understand how you work refunds in the interest calculator? If I got a charge of £20 then got a refund a couple of weeks later, would I just ignore this charge when putting the data into the calculator, as it has been cancelled out by the refund. Yes, you would ignore this charge when you fill in the rest on the calculator. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Quick question, are the new charges you received in line with OFT "recommendations" of £12? I'd be interested to know even though a precedence hasn't been set yet

The £12 maximum as recommended by the OFT has nothing to do with any bank charges. It applies only to credit card charges. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

When I claimed, I put the amount in the claculator as a negative amount. This will balance out the interest. Statutory interest is calculated from the date they took the money to the date settled. So if they charged you on 1 December but then refunded on 31st December, they owe you 30 days interest.0
