I know this one is my AV getting overprotective!

Just after midnight, clicking on links from email notifications of updated threads, '404 Not Found' as above:

Have repaired the wireless connection several times earlier and once tonight. Am now using a right click of the mouse and 'open in new tab' within the website, and have found that refreshing the page is getting there.

See above. Note that my usual method of getting around is a middle click, which opens in a new tab.

Although thinking about it, I don't see how it can be my wireless connection because it's quite happily refreshing my son's tweets! and doing emails etc.

    Here we go again ...

Typing forums.moneysavingexpert.com into my browser address bar and letting it autocomplete to http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/usercp.php isn't happy. I get a 404 error, or my Panda security gets upset.

I can get to http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/ and view the main site, but when I click on the 'Forum' button I get
No site configured at this address

That persisted for about half an hour: got in eventually by clicking on a link from an email notification, and from there I seem to be able to go anywhere. BUT I still can't get to the forum from the link on the main site. Is it me?

All technical details as before ...

  • Hi Savvy_Sue,
No site configured at this address

Thank you for the specific error message. This is extremely helpful. This particular error does not seem uncommon in Firefox these days. A number of people have been posting on the Firefox support forums about it. They seem to have had some success resolving it by clearing their browser history, cache, and cookies. You may wish to investigate that. Hope that helps.

Site is astonishingly slow this afternoon and evening. There are intermittent quick periods but it is taking me about 2-3 minutes to move from page to page. My net connection generally is very quick at the moment so I suspect you have a problem.
