deliveries left in bin!!

I've said it on here before but I can't praise my postie enough for his service. If I'm out he'll leave my parcel behind the bin if its dry, if wet he'll pop it in garden waste bin which we don't use. If I'm away for a time I tell him and he keeps everything back at the sorting office for me until I get back when he'll happily bring it all round for me.
I broke my big toe just before Christmas so I'd been struggling to get around a fair bit. I'd seen Postie who'd laughed at my stupidity and sympathised. When I finally got around to hobbling to the door to collect the mail a few days later there was a note written on the back of an envelope telling me he'd left a small parcel in the brown bin to save me trying to scurry to the door and get well soon.
Service like that doesn't happen very often anymore.0 -

Ive probably said it before
It doesn't happen because people cant risk their job to save someone the 'hassle' of collecting/getting a redelivery
In RM at least,its a very real possibility0 -
if it was left in a recycling bin AND a card was left telling you it was that would be a bit different. but to leave it in a wheelie bin which now has 1 weeks worth of rubbish in it....not the same.
yes the rubbish may be in bags but things can still be contaminated. therefore that would be why you wash your hands after popping rubbish bags in the bin. or at leas you should.0 -
Nespresso are such a good company, I don't get why they use Yodel??
My milkman has left food and milk deliveries in my fetid, stinking kitchen waste bin in the middle of summer before with no note. I live in a quiet cul de sac in private driveway so goodness knows why he felt the need to do this!0 -
Greetings and salutations all. This is my first post, so hope I don't break any of the rules...... I work for a very large delivery company, not Yodel. Having worked for this company for well over a decade in various capacities, it never ceases to amaze me the lack of thought some people put into a simple task of having a delivery made. If you've ordered something, have it delivered to an address where it can be signed for, eg, your place of work, a relatives house etc..... I make no excuses for RM or Yodel who place goods in the bin, or chuck it over the gate, that's just plain wrong, and at the company I work for, instant dismissal.Pay attention to the fine print, It is far more important than the selling price0

Fully agree, however many companies which sell stuff will not deliver to addresses other than that of the credit card holder. Ordered a tablet recently and this could only be delivered to my home address.
