Have they not begun sticking to these new principles yet?
We won't know. They put prices up then at a later date have an offer on the item. They say the price increase was not an artificial inflation and we think it was. We will never know.0 -
I try my hardest not to go to tesco hate the place! over priced and poor quality. I did go In to my local T exspres as I do find it cheaper than the big tesco in town to find 6x fr eggs where £2.26:eek::eek:
Shocking how they can get away with it. People think they will shop at t's for the vouchers but if they sat down and worked it out it still nots worth it in my opinion.MFIT-T3 - 31 = (2012 £3050) 2013 op = £3009
Savings £4100 -
If it weren't for the fact that OH likes Tesco cheese rolls, we'd rarely shop in Tesco at all, other than nipping in for special offers on things like organic olive oil.
Just don't trust Tesco anymore.0 -
Like many others, i tend to just but the special offers.
Punnet of Market value grapes was 99p back in the summer. leapt to £1.25 (25%,) then around £1.50. Last week they were £1.99 so have now doubled!
There's no way they can blame poor harvests due to British "Summer" as so much is imported.Worse things will have happened in the world today..."The only thing that really matters, it to love and to be loved."0 -

Have you stopped to ask yourself where they come from. In summer they will have been from Europe.
Now they will be from the southern hemisphere.
Costs rather a lot of money to FLY short-life fruit around!!!British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
Today I went to look at some houses and Tesco was the biggest supermarket near by. EVERYTHING was so expensive, from things such as squash, teabags, bread... not practical.
Noticed the price increase too; Warburton Thins £1 and now, £1.30.Now I am employed, lets get rid of this student debt!

I haven't shopped in Tesco for a few years now (can't afford to!)
I'm trying to do most of my shopping in Lidl and anything which I can't find in Lidl I get from Sainsburys (plus i stock up on a few value items from Sainsburys such as tins of custard and rice pudding).
I call into Home bargains as and when I get the chance and we also have a shop in Chesterfield called 'Job lot' which sells things like approved foods do.

I posted a while back about this after i commited to 6 months Tesco delivery saver, shopping weekly with them online i know all their prices and at the time with 4 children to shop for felt they were reasonable. Since then they have put up all my regular items, grapes, fruit juice, cereal, bread and so on some of the hikes are huge...it doesn't run out until April, but i have moved on to Aldi which is saving me £10-£15 per week, just using Tesco for organic milk and bits i can't buy in Aldi, when it expires i will not go back!0

If you don't like it, there are plenty more supermarkets who will take your business. If enough people do the same, then perhaps Tesco will start to realise0

Tesco bananas 79p up from 68p. Lidl still 68p as of 10am.
Did you know the skins are edible. Maybe for in a smoothie.0
