Evening everyone
Had quite a lazy day today although dog walked, took ds's to dentist. came home cleared out my handbag full of rubbish, kept few receipts from christmas. made a chicken curry for dinner tonight, no leftovers both ds's cleared their plates and asked if there was more.wm been on and hung up on airer. Also been surfing on the laptop, managed to get a deal on the eurostar to brussels for dh birthday weekend, just need to find a nice cheap hotel now. Eldest ds will look after youngest and woofer for the weekend. Part of my new years positivity is to do more things to look forward so a step in the right direction. Need to start ebaying my surplus stuff to help pay for meals etc.
MH -Glad your friends dd is okay. Sorry to hear the awful news about the dog though.
Flutterby - Glad the op went ok, I know what you mean about your dm fussing, mines the same.
Shalva - Sorry to hear about your friends dad, so sad.
Taplady - I too have started the sistercas fund, didnt get very far last year, but my dd has bought me one of the sealed pots for christmas this year, will seem a shame to break it at the end though. I am trying to put in £2 per day.
Elaine - Hope your dream comes true for you.
Sorry if I have missed anyone. hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take Care.0 -
Thanks all. And I know my Mum is only fussing cos she cares, and I'm lucky to have her, just wish she was more like my Dad, he just sat in the corner reading his book and making me cuppas! They left about 4pm. Had some HM celery soup for tea, and have next door's cat keeping me company now

LOL, cats are very restful company!
Glad your op went ok, Flutterby, and there's no place like home to return to.
A working day for me, but not too busy. The start of the year can be quiet in the banking world, as all our customers haven't got themselves kick started yet!
Hooray, for the OS life - dinner was the other half of a tomato and chicken casserole, that I made before christmas and stored in the freezer.
On a work day I spend the evening fairly quietly, I'm too whacked to think about doing much in the way of housework. But I've got five other days in the week to do that, so it works ok.Early retired - 18th December 2014

Evening chums not a bad day to start with, took the boys to the library and they behaved beautifully today tidying up and hoovering for me bless them. Then a bit of bad news their Mum my lovely Tessa has been made redundant so she is so upset tonight as things are pretty streeetched as it is with four boys who eat like horses:) but we shall survive this, as we do most things by pulling together, and she will turn her hand to almost anything bless her when it comes to working she is a grafter bless her.I left her filling in online applications about an hour ago ,she won't let the grass grow under her feet that's for sure
Bloody recession is really biting now I think in all fields of work
<<hugs for those who are feeling down and blue at the moment >>
Onwards and upwards chums

Hi,
I'm getting over my cold and cough and just love the yelling bull cough medicine - it's a miracle. I took some of the night-time one las night and slept for 7 hours. Unheard of for me, with or without a cough.

Where do you get that cough medicine from? My OH has a terrible cough and maybe it would help him. Thanks0 -
Hi all,
Late one for me, sorry but I havn,t read through yet, hope your all okay.
Work is coming hard after 10 days off, but at least I can,t spend.
Spent a fiver I didn,t need to, bought some cereal, oast cakes only to find that I already had some
Had to go to dentist tonight at quarter past 7- had to wait for 45 mins to get in, only to be told they didn,t have time to do the filling I,d booked for - they knew what it was for when I booked and it wasn,t my fault that they ran over - they flippin annoy me, they have cancelled the past 2 appointments I made, then tonight told me if I cancelled another, I might not be able to be treated by them - flamin cheek!!!! It was them, not me.....:mad::mad:
Anyhooo off to sort DW and get an early night
Have a fab night all xNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

Hello!
Had a nice day today. Lately have been taking my Mum to Leicester hospital on a Thursday, but no appointment came through for this week, so no arduous 4 hour round trip. Mum was pleased. Instead, played Monopoly with DS3 (age 13) for 2 hours in which he showed an astute money-making tendancy, he thrashed me.
Came home and made a Beef Plate Pie with left-over beef from the roast we had on New Year's Day and Puff Pastry my Mum gave me. Delicious!! Back to work again tomorrow, but DH is home, as he has no work, so will keep an eye on DS3.
Love reading this thread btwkeep smiling,

cliffsgirl: I got mine in B00ts. My cough was one of the dry, rasping type and I asked at the pharmacy counter and this was what the girl advised. It's called Covonia and they do a daytime one and a nighttime one. I use both. Don't know if they do one for chesty coughs, if that's what you need it's worth asking.
Good LuckI believe that friends are quiet angels

Have trouble remembering how to fly.0
