So basically so as long as we live in a side each and don't knock that door though I can continue to claim tax credits seeing as he has his own house to pay for and I have mine. I can no longer stay in my current accommodation and have to move so living next door to him seems ideal. And for what its worth I work a 50+ hour week and being self employed Im not making minimum wage so I rely on the little bit I get in tax credits to keep my head above water. And no I don't expect my boyfriend to pay for my children as he has his own children to support and maintenance to pay to his ex wife despite having them being with him 50% of the time but that's a whole different debate.

And the fact that YOUR Tax Credits will increase his maintenance if on new CSA. I know it's wrong - I hate the fact that a NRP's new tax credits are income but a PWC can have maintenance and benefits and I'm not even affected by it! Doesn't take a genius to know it's wrong.

But you are wanting to live together and so to lie or cheat isn't advisable.

If you want to (and risk his EX reporting you for none payment of rent or living together ) then fine.

If you think it is above board ring TC and ask - but you know their answer and are really wanting a work around.

The Ex will report you even if you think they won't as his rental will go down.

Do you not stay over with each other at all?

No but your perfectly happy to let all of us pay for them.
As I said your looking for a clever way around it.
I personally hope you go along with your cunning plan and both get caught. Maybe harsh but if I have to pay towards things/scams like this then surely I can have an opinion

    .

Sorry I don't understand this I'm not sure if I have read this right.
Is my income taken into account when looking at how much maintenance his ex wife gets. So effectively she gets all the TC and CB for their children despite having them only half the time and then she get a proportion of my income too. I wont be able to afford to live at this rate clearly there is a price on love.

I came here to tell you that was clearly wrong until I looked into it first and found that you are right, even if there is shared custody of 50% the "none resident parent" parent still gets screwed.

How ridiculous the law is in this case.

No, but there is a price on raising children and living in "bigger" houses

Actually I wish I didn't have to claim tc, like I said I work 50+ hrs a week but still don't earn much. I have had a better year this year so have not needed to claim so much. I work around my children so pay no childcare which many people claim help for and I claim no housing benefit or any benefit and have always worked and paid taxes never claiming JSA, IS or sick pay.

Depending on his CSA. If new version ANY tax credits are treat as his income, your wages no, joint Tax Credits Yes.

So if his EX will report you may as well move in legit.
