Hello, I had a phone call on Tuesday the 8th January telling me i had won 2nd prize on a competion. i didnt belive it at fisrt till i started to talk to the person called shaune, he told me i had won, i told him i dont belive him and asked him what was the catch he told me there no catch i told him i want that in writing then i asked him how mush it was he told no NOTHING IT IS FREE i told him i want that in writing too, he told me he will send a welcome pack to me and that i should recive it today the 10th jan, well i didnt recived a welcome pack today. well with this i got all excited as i have always wanted my pics done and a portfolio done so i thought it was a dream come true so i told everyone at work and getting really excited about it i asked a friend to come with me as i was allowed to take a friend or two family members for £30 each, i was unsure about paying this so i told shaune that to ring me back on friday 11th and i will pay the deposit, but since then i have found this website and looked at every page and found that a lot of people have heard about this. now i dont want to believe that as i was looking forward to going. So now i have told my friend to look at this website and tell me what she thinks so i think it is the biggest SCAM ever. DONT BELIEVE THIS IT IS A SCAM.
Im just glad i didnt pay my deposit, so now i can go out and spend it on other things.

hi i won this competition as well, i went and it was all great we did get the depoist back or you can put towards a extra photogragh, you also get a free photo.
i would really suggest you go it was a really fun day!
bosh85My 16 year old daughter was contacted 2 days ago by a company called Coverlook Studios. They told her that she had won a competition she had entered, and that she had won a makeover and hair styling worth £500. She needed me (as she is under 18) to agree to this.
I spoke to the chap, a James Lo, who informed me that she had won this competition via the internet (my daughter is a little vague about remembering entering this particular competition!). There are no hidden costs. She would need to book to come up to an address in Oxford Circus for her treatments, she would have a professional photographer take her picture, and that she would get a photo on a CD-rom as a memento (sp?) of the day, with an option to buy other pictures at a 40% discount.
As her family, we were also invited to have the various treatments.
They requested that we pay a refundable £30 deposit to secure our booking.
I wouldn't touch this with a barge pole, but she is really excited.
Has anyone else had experience of this company - all sounds fishy to me!!
Their website is www.coverlookstudios.info0 -

I won in October and arranged to go last Saturday, 19th January with my friend only a couple of days before I read all these horror stories on this site and was really worried, we had paid our £60 deposit and had booked a hotel. We needn't have worried, we had a great day, the makeup and hair were great, the photographer (as girl) was really good and we had some terrific photos taken. We weren't pressured into buying, though we did a deal and bought two each and got a free one each as promised. The deposit was offered but we just put it towards the ones were buying. No hard sell and a very reasonable price. We paid £90 for four photos. The refreshments weren't that great but that's not what we went for.0

Whats all this talk of deposit though?
I've paid for sessions for 2 people & a small photo each.
Will they still try & get a deposit from me? Because I wasn't planning on buying any more, I don't even like A4 size photos, that why I wanted the 5 x 7 inch ones.0 -
I was phoned by some lady called Sarah from 02076310485 who said I had won a makeover, she asked me for GBP30 deposit so I told her to get lost! She wouldn't even email me any information or Ts & Cs.0

Me, my sister and her friend all went to the Covergirl (previously Coverlook)Studio on Saturday and we had a great day - i thoroughly recommend it!
The problem with most of the negative comments on here is people being naive enough to think of it as an all expenses paid competition they have won - it is a business so obviously they have to make their money somehow. Everything is free except if you want to purchase all the photos which you are under no obligation to do (although they are fantastic). This is no different to what 'Venture' or any national, reputable company do.
I understand that some people have had problems getting their deposit back although it seems most have got them back eventually.
As far as the photos go - they do initially tell you they are £3,000 which we obviously laughed at and we ended up paying £130 each but i had 35 pictures for that which i think is a bargain!
Just be prepared for a long day - we were there for about 5 hours, saying that it was well worth it and i recommend anyone who has 'won' to go along and enjoy it!!!0
