MrsM1982 - For the nearly 3 year old - I've just made a blanket for my 3 year old daughter and am about half way through one for her 19 month old brother. I've made them from cheap Ikea fleeces cut into 6" squares and appliqued every other square with hearts and flowers for DD and doing simple cars and trucks for DS - the great thing about the fleece is that it doesn't fray so no need for hems!! I've just actually used the seam as a feature and put them on the front of the blanket. Hopefully this should be the picture.

Can someone need a gift for a 1ish year old please? And then can they make this? I need someone to have a baby so I can make it! (And learn to crochet)

Those crochet monsters are so cute! Need to keep learning how to crochet (started to learn just before Christmas). I tend to make a lot of presents through the year as I'm on such a tight budget. It's mostly girls stuff as that's who I tend to have to buy for, though for Christmas I did make some cuff links for which these instructions were very useful

I'm trying to increase the amount I make as once again prices are going up and yet wages stay the same so belts need tightening (or indeed making from scratch if you find a pattern you like).

I use https://www.craftbits.com for lots of instructions and found this the other day which is so cute

Anyhoo, I shall be checking in and see what you're all up to!

Yay :D I look forward to photos, you have to make them now you know, you can't let me down!! :rotfl:

Toonie I still need to learn - infact I'm off to go try again now! The craftbits website looks good, I had a quick peek but I need to go do a few housey things before I get totally distracted! Maybe just 5 minutes...

Lucylollipop - the notepad cover sound good, think I will give that a go.

Stiltwalker, the blankets are lovely, if I see some cheap fleeces I think I'll give it a go!

Toonie - thanks for craft bits, I've bookmarked it!

Those stacker rings are so cute! My skills aren't up to that - but I do have a 4 month old if anyone wants to make one;)

    Hi there,

    Please can I join?

I do make some gifts but could do with being [STRIKE]a bit[/STRIKE] more organised. This Christmas I made my niece and nephew hot water bottle covers, and also some foodie gifts for the adults. I have a recipe for white choc and cranberry fudge which is really easy and no thermometer required:D. I tried rum and raisin but it didn't set very well - was going to transform it into truffles but never got round to it:o.

The crocheted mitts are fab and I love the owl bag.

    Cheers x

MrsM1982 - If you have a B & M near you I got 2 packs of 2 fleece throws for £3.99 each from there and the Ikea ones are £3 each (but ever so slightly better quality).
