Omg omg - DS just come in to drop a box off. It's 80cm x 60cm x 1metre and it's my Xmas present . I'm am so excited. I haven't a clue what it is and it's all taped up..... I love Xmas and usually they hide the presents from me because I open them and seal them back up. But he signed across the tape on this one lol ... My kids know me so well lol
Thats a good idea signing the tape - guess that be one that be safe till Xmas!!
Yrs ago, (before Miss Hoodie), I brought mum a new hoover for Xmas, - got dad to pick it up from work while mum was at work, we wrapped it in the most tacky paper, nothing matched, left it in the spare bedroom, and told her we were looking after it for the next door neighbour... there for about 3 weeks, then xmas she had a surprise. She opens presents as soon as she gets them, if I come back with a shopping bag she goes noseing, or gets moody if something is not shown to her!!
Just got my xmas treat, order the soap and glory, cheated and did an online order for collection in store, couldn't be bothered to go to the shop, thought spend more money. xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

I have had fun and games with our doctors, put my repeat prescription in at the weekend ready for pick up on Tues. One of my tablets was running out Tues night and I take them in the mornings and at night so I went down there first thing wed morning to pick it all up and found the item I was really short of hadnt been added. I asked why and the girl was saying it was on there (there were two similar tablets, one was a slow release of the same drug as the other one and I had only been on this new one for 2 months) and I was having trouble trying to get her to understand it was the other one I wanted, she was insisting it wasnt on my repeat, where as I thought it should be as the dr who prescribed it told me he was adding it. Hence I lost my rag and said a few choice words, walked out, got outside and broke down crying. Went into the pharmacy next door with the prescription she gave me, was crying in there, lady sat down with me and said she would go in there later and see if she could sort it, sent me home.
Next morning had phone call saying head doctor wanted a word with me and could I make and appointment so made it for yesterday morning as I was going down there for health check with another dept anyway. Met this other dr, he asked why I had got upset and I told him about the tablets, turns out I shouldnt have been prescribed both at the same time, I was taking double the adult dose!! He said no wonder I wasnt myself the last few weeks or more. The other dr definitely told me I should take both, my daughter was with me and could back me up. I then told the dr about how the other one had refused to refer me to the hospital and he couldnt believe it and was very apologetic, said he was embarrassed that it could happen in his surgery. He called down the practice manager who came in as well, all sitting there together discussing it, ends up this other dr is going to be severely reprimanded and they are putting in an official complaint. I apologised to the girl on the desk for my behaviour lol, poor girl thought it was her who upset me and was thinking she was going to get in trouble. Anyway, all sorted now, and the effects I have been having should start to clear and may be I will be back to my old self by Christmas lol.0 -
Rufus - that is unbelievable, glad the doctor is dealing with it, and good on you getting the referral to the hospital.
Had a good day out today, went to our favourite icecream farm, - 4 packets of polos lighter - feed the ponies and goats.
We got 10% discount off lunch as the boss of the cafe section served us, all helps out, icecream was lush, I had a double, 1st was peaches and cream, 2nd - white choc chunk. Miss Hoodie had mint choc chip, and grandad Hoodie had Christmas Pudding. All home made on the farm. xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

Baste is another word for tack Susan. Just a big running stitch xx0 -
Rufus - thank you very much. So do I tack by hand and then leave the stitches in.? I can't sew so am struggling a bit lol . Sorry about the questions . I have got a sewing machine and a big book for the new year .
Thanks Julie for the spam 12 posts and all the same, if you are a genuine newbie then mum2one has us very organised and you are not allowed to post web site addressesChallenge 2018 - Learn by heart the Book by Wayne Morgan on Amazon - Betfair Football Trading as it helps to supplement my small income :beer:0 -
Susan, you tack it together to hold it together instead of pins, so the tacking stitches are just like pinning it but better if you get me. After sewing properly you usually take the tacking out. You can use quite big tacking stitches when its just a hem or something like that. If its a seam of clothing and you need to try it on to fit then you need to do a bit smaller stitches or it will gape and you wont be able to see. If you get stuck just shout xx0
