Wow, well done Mum2one, thats a great saving on the laptop and miss hoodie did well with the phone even if she has to wait. Well done on making a start on next years presents too xxx

I have been sitting quilting, done quite a bit of the quilt, but still a lot to do, may be a third of the way through it lol. I can do a bit more today during the day as oh is sleeping but we are going out tonight.

Tomorrow I can get upstairs for the day so might see if I can cut out the bag for YD, might get to sew it up too if I work quick enough and my back isnt too sore, I put it out again yesterday, pulling up my jeans of all things.

    Hi everyone

Rufus, hows your back? Did you cut out the bag? Any ideas for the boys in your family yet?

Mum2one, you're always getting the bargains. I hope you treat yourself too. Are you still studying?

Susan, made me smile reading that your OH has a weakness for tv's. Usually people say they have a weakness to choccies or crafts lol How many does he have?

Mrs Moneypenny - how are you getting along with your makes?

From Monday onwards, I stopped socialising and concentrating on a backlog of chores. I had more suicide texts this week, not only from the usual friend but also from others. And the worst attention seeker is back from holiday today, he is obsessed with me. I really need to put in some boundaries with these people.

I spent a lot of time on sorting paperwork/filing/decluttering, sorting loose change the last 3 days in between food shopping, gardening, mowing, craft club.

DS2 will be arriving soon from his care home for the weekend visit, if he wants to go to the pub I'll take him but otherwise I will stay away as I want to tackle the computer room which is very cluttered with books and junk.

Anglea, you sound like you are a mini samaritans at the moment, I dont know how on earth you cope with all that from other people, especially people you know. Must be so hard.

My back is still a bit sore but getting there, I have been resting seeing as OH has been on nights, just sitting quilting so nice and relaxing. Going to do some sorting out upstairs this afternoon as its a bit of a mess. Havent got anything for the boys yet, we had a thought yesterday to maybe do them a hamper with bits and bobs in. Last year we did a toiletry one for them with deodorant, hair gel, that kind of thing, thought of branching out and adding things like packet of biscuits, socks, anything that we see on offer. There are three of them to do and one girl so should be fun collecting.

Forgot to say, I havent cut out the bag yet. Want to do a couple of cushions too with the faces on for people as well if I have the fabrics. Will have to wait until next week when OH is back on days again but got busy week next week, going out with YD on Tue, Thur going to craft show in london and have craft fair on Saturday.

Hi I don't know if it helps anyone but I found glass kilner type bottles in jewel colours in my local home bargains 79p for the 500ml ones. They do say not for sterilising, but I'm going to use them for home made liqueurs :o I don't know why, maybe the seals aren't so great but I don't expect mine to last longer than new year anyway :p

Love the thread - mostly lurk but thought I'd share my find with you all.

hugs Angela sounds like you have a lot of needy people gravitating towards you. you do sound a lovely caring person so you need to keep your boundarys so that your own life doesnt get taken over.
hope you have a lovely weekend with your DS and manage to get your computer room sorted.

ive sat this morning hand writing the tags for the 31 knitted brooches i made. quite pleased with them.
found a stash of cushion pads in the airing cupboard so have plans to make a few more covers for those.
im still working on the clutch bags ive got a few that still need hand sewing to finish them off.
started a little knitted bunny last night for someone i know whos expecting a baby
also started cross stitching a star on a door plaque for my nieces birthday hamper.
:o opps looking at that list i think i need to do more finishing and less starting off.

still have a tapestry cushion panel and a decopage stocking on my things i want to complete this year list.

im i the only one who has too many plans and not enough time to complete them all.

oh if anyones in the east mids area and wants to do a craft fayre, there are still stalls available at the high school one im attending on 30th nov, its been running about 3 years now and pulls quite a good crowd of buyers.

moneypenny - I wish I had more hours in the day, my glasses broke this morning, just snapped in half and fell off my face. I wasnt happy as thats a trip out to the optician and I planned a day crafting

bossy - thxs for the tip on the bottles, I think I have to get some of those ;-)

Angela - i dont know how you cope with all these people, but alot are talking about suicide, cant blame them the futures bleak if your younger. OH has 6 tv`s at the moment, we gave 2 away, the 32" ones as they are too small, so he says. He has a problem I think lol

Mum2one - well done on the laptop. I made a fool of myself in Argos the other day. Give her my reservation number and she said that's not it, I read it out again, no she said. I was becoming quite frustrated at this point. I only read the reference no for a car!!!

Rufus - lucky you going to the craft fair, I`d love to go but cant justify the costs at the moment. Sorry to hear your backs still sore though

echo - hi, waves to echo, have you done any drawing lately ?

Susan - hope you get your glasses sorted and its not a new pr, sorry had to laugh at the Argos and the wrong ref. I'm lethal with Argos and sales - gd think now - weve got Miss Hoodies big prezzie sorted, - just got mum and dad left....

Angela - I've ended up taking another yr out of studying - I'm no longer eligable for funding and this yr would have needed 2k, the following yr 2 1/2k..... so unless win the lottery my full degree on hold. I'm going to try and looking into student loans for next yr. I was half expecting my darling ex to drag me and Misss Hoodie through court, as the original order although half of it was set in stone, *yets he's breeched 20 times at last count, the other part was for a yr - based on how he had been throughout the hearing I was expecting to be be on that treadmill and knew that I couldn't cope with that and OU, that happened the 1st time.

How are you, I'm sorry your getting so much text stress, you dont need the additional stress. Hope you have a good weekend with your son.

Rufus - Hope your back feels better soon, you take care.

Bossy- Seen those bottles they look lovely, trouble i I'd be too tight to give away 500ml of alcohol!! they have some lovely colours - they would also look good with a single rose in them.

Is everyone enjoying the lovely wet weather.... ours looked like a flipping thunderstorm earlier xxx

Ok, I have to admit I have been creative and "borrowed" this info from the weekly email just incase anyone uses supermarket on-line delievery.

Supermarket / Available to book / Last delivery date / Delivery charge / Minimum spend?
    Asda - 21 days in advance -Tue 24 Dec - £3-£5 - £25
    Sainsbury's - 21 days in advance - Tue 24 Dec - £2.99-£6.95 - £25
Tesco - End of Nov (date tbc)- Unconfirmed -£3-£6 -N/A
Waitrose NOW - Tue 24 Dec -Free -£50
    Ocado Thu 17 Oct - Tue 24 Dec- Free-£6.99 - £90

from what I have heard is that people reserve their slot by putting in a pint of milk so their slot is in!! and then add as and when they need to. xx
