I have a few thoughts on these questions, but still looking for answers to 2, 3ii, 8, 11a, and 17ii.

Q3: (i) The actors a. Hugh Laurie (as Bertie Wooster), b. Damian Lewis (As Major Richard Winters in Band of Brothers), and c. Patrick Macnee (As Steed in The Avengers) all went to Eton College.
(ii) Name the character who is the odd one out?
Major Winters - he is an American, the others are upper-class Brits?

Q7: Dante - yes, his full name is Durante degli Aligheri, but Eco is quoted as saying "from Dante to Shakespeare, from Balzac to Rossellini." Q8: I would go for Julia McKenzie rather than Helen Mirren. McKenzie actually played the queen in the helicopter sequence. Q17: (i) is the elf Galadriel, played by Kate Blanchett in The Lord of the Rings. I think based on the question's wording (ii) should also be an elf - but I can't identify the actress.

i wonder is q2 has anything to do with disney world which opened in 1971 and which has an avengers themed monorail and a ride called mission (space) to mars... can't discover a connection to the sun though!

You may have got this - there is a Mickey Sun which you can buy [STRIKE]and it also has a facebook page[/STRIKE]. I toyed with "fourth", Mars being the 4th planet, god creating the sun on the 4th day etc. but it fizzled out. Also tried to link Josh Whedon but got nowhere with that either. So far Disney seems the most likely. Well done to everyone. Just when I find an answer someone beats me to it.

Correction - should have checked the Mickey sun FB page first ! - nothing to do with Mickey Mouse but if you check on Amazon you'll see the Mickey Sun car antenna topper.

Question 17 (ii) Bella (Kirsten Stewart) becomes a vampire in Breaking Dawn Part 2 (so I've just been told by a female colleague who has read all the books) - haven't checked it out but sure someone will confirm. The Part 2 bit is important apparently.
Have to leave it for now - work to do.

Walt Disney bought out Lucasfilm Ltd in Oct 2012. Link to sun and mars - Star Wars films?? Lucasfilm was founded in 1971. So could the answer be: Walt Disney Company?

florida is the sunshine state of course, but i don't think this link stands up. i wondered if mars cld link into another comic character john carter from mars, but then the comic character sungirl is really tenuous to pull all of that together. still think we're missing a thing or too!
