I'm feeling a bit unmotivated at the moment - everything seems such a long way off, or goals that are long-term seem to plod along so slowly that it doesn't seem like we'll ever get there.
In MSE news, it's been another NSD for me and the bank accounts look good. As it's payday on Friday, I'm hoping to do some transfers across to the various accounts, including a higher rate of savings this month compared to last month.
Gosh, I'm in such a down mood today, sorryBe who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Hey SF
((hugs)) be kind to yourself- you're probably still getting over being ill so doing a job which takes up so much of your time -especially when you'd rather be at home with the furry ones - will take its toll on you a bit more too.
I really hope your cats get better soon hopefully the vets treatment will take effect soon x
Any chance of popping in some stepping stone type short term goals? Its an idea i'm going to try next month as i am the same with not seeming to get anywhere fast or as fast as i would like. Hopefully short term achievable goals will keep the focus and motivation going. So i'll be challenging myself on the food spend so that'll be weekly and totalled monthly. And i'm going to challenge myself on surveys so little steps but they all help xCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
DFW - I set monthly goals as well as longer term ones, so I do have some more achievable ones
it's just that I feel like sometimes I'm not doing enough. I then have to remind myself that what I'm doing is just fine enough at the moment. It's a hard thing to balance sometimes
Another day donenot a NSD today as I've been to someone's leaving do at work and then I've done some shopping at morrisons to top up on some things that we need. Also managed to get DH some doughnuts for 9p (for 5!) which he was very pleased with

It's half term :j :j :j
It's also payday today so I've shuffled various monies around and everything is looking okay at the moment *touches wood* I'm hoping to transfer a tiny bit more before the end of the month, providing nothing unexpected happens
I'm just sat waiting for a friend to arrive and got the alcoholic ginger beers in the fridgeah, love Friday nights.....

This is a copy of a post I've posted in another thread, but I'm posting it here so that I can remember it at some point later on when I need it.
As someone who spent the afternoon yesterday at the funeral of a friend of ours, who died age 25 and then at the wake with all of his family, it made me think about what I consider important.
As someone who is also a disappointment to my parents, I've decided that I'm not going to let them rule my life anymore. I have a lovely little home with my husband, bought with a deposit we worked and saved hard for, I have two gorgeous cats who are very happy so long as they've got food, a bed and some cuddles now and again. We (me and DH) will never earn as much as my parents combined, because we do different jobs to them, but that doesn't bother me either. I don't need a lot to make me happy; I love just spending the evening with DH and the cats, watching a film snuggled up on the sofa.
Life is too short to feel constantly like you're not doing enough. I'm determined to not live my life like that any longer. Yesterday further cemented my beliefs about life; time passes far too quickly and you never know when your time is up. You need to spend it with the people you love, and all the good stuff in between is just a bonus.
Yesterday was hard because life seems so unfair at times.
I may be slightly re-assessing our priorities and goals as I ponder what's really important, going forward.Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I'm sorry for your loss SF. It's even more difficult when you lose someone before their time.slowlyfading wrote: »

My sympathies SF, we're going through the same at the moment, with the funeral of someone very special on Friday. It's made me reassess things - in my case wanting to finish work and enjoy life, but we're at a different stage in our lives so you need to work out what is best for you and Mr SF.
Take care and carpe diem xxA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0
