Well, first day done and dusted! Getting up this morning at 6:30AM was hard :o :rotfl: but once I was back in the building, all thoughts of the holidays were well and truly gone. It's funny how as soon as you're back, it's like you've never left!

It's been a NSD today; we've had mince, peas and onion gravy in a giant yorkshire for tea, followed by bread and honey  :D which were all storecupboard/freezer items. Pretty tasty tea!

As it's payday tomorrow, there'll be the usual shuffle of money around various accounts. Not sure if I'll hit our targets for the month, but we shall see :)

Now off to have a relax on the sofa with DH and some cuddles with the cats; nothing makes me happier than being at home :)

Gosh, another day over already. And it's payday :j :j I've done a bit of a shuffle around and:

    • £200 OP
    • £72 to savings
    • NSD
    • More ideas/thoughts plotting and planning - I spend half my free time daydreaming about things that probably won't happen :o
Best thing about this evening is that I've made a chocolate banana loaf for tea which has a) made the house smell lovely and b) gone down a treat with DH :)

just swinging by to say hi and catch up on your news. My half term is just ending... bet yours already feels like a distant memory!

New venture sounds interesting. There are a number of staff in my school who are so thoroughly disillusioned with the teaching profession that we're in various stages of researching/leaving a job that we love. Hope you get to realise your dreams. Life is too short

    It definitely does!

The thought of doing this for the next 40 years fills me with dread, if I'm being totally honest. I'm looking to be out of there by 50, if not long before! The job isn't what I thought it would be; teaching the children is fab 90% of the time, but it's all the other stuff that's dragging me down.

But, who knows what will happen in the future? That's the scary part.

What type of business are you looking to start, slowlyfading? Self employment is generally great but there are times when it is extremely tough too.
    2018 totals:
    Savings £11,200
    Mortgage Overpayments £5,500

Half my problem at the moment is that I've got lots of ideas, and I can't decide! I need to have a think and plan and see what would actually be viable, rather than just a pipe dream :o

    Happy hump day everyone!

To be honest, that's about as happy as it gets round here; not to be a moaning minnie on my own thread but I'm struggling a bit at the moment. I'm finding work hard at the moment for various reasons and I'm not sure when the work balance is going to improve.

Anyway, onto better and more positive things. Our bank balance is looking healthy at the moment, and we've not got any big DDs going out this week. I'm hoping to do another OP on Friday, providing things are still looking good, and then to re-assess the savings and see where we are re: America.

I've also got some draft long term aims, both financial and personal, that if I want to actually happen, I need to start to put into practice ASAP.

In other news, had pancakes two days running for tea as they're just that good :D and I've given up chocolate, crisps, cakes, sweets and biscuits for lent
