  • Hi SF,

Wow it does sound like exciting times :D Is it connected to the job you do already or something totally different? :)

PM me if you want to chat about it :)

I'm with others so far though - without knowing anything about it if you can start it p/t give that a whirl but i'd say get organised with everything first too as you will be more time poor if you are working the long days + this as well so it will just be much easier if you've got x no. of batch cooked meals in the freezer etc. But if you are getting organized first pop a time limit on it / start date for the business so no matter what you take the plunge that day too :) I worked p/t self employed and full time as well so just trying to think practically of things that may make it easier for you when you start x I am sure you are really organised anyway :)

Where are you going on your holibobs? :D

It's something totally unrelated to my day job :) but an exciting time ahead! Some good tips there, thank you :) and we go on the 15th for a week! Very much looking forward to it - it'll be nice to get away for a bit :)

And relax! It's finally half term :)

It's been mentally busy over the last week, with me not getting back in til 9 or 10pm each evening, so I've not really had chance to pop on the computer, as I've just been going to bed :rotfl:

The first thing to confess is that on Monday I ordered a new Macbook Pro, which I'm currently typing on. My old one has unfortunately died a death, in the sense that it wouldn't last very long, I could only use it with the screen at a very specific (and uncomfortable) angle and it took forever to do anything. I used some savings to pay for it, plus birthday and christmas monies, and I love it :D so shiny!

The rest of the week has been NSDs, as I've been in school for over 12 hours each day, so no spending could be done :rotfl: it's been a good week, if long, but boy am I glad for the break. Me and DH go on holiday tomorrow and we're both looking forward to it. DH dropped the cats off at the luxury cattery for their stay, so they're not here :( but I had plenty of cuddles before I left for work this morning.

Not much else to report really; I made a small £50 OP this morning before I went to work, and, with some careful budgeting, we'll make it to the end of the month with nothing too disastrous re: money.

We're having a relaxing, slow day today as I'm ill :( got an awful cold and cough - a sure sign it's the holidays!

Yesterday we went for a walk on the beach near us; it's not warm enough for a swim but I did dip my feet in :) it was nice and quiet on the beach, so we just took our time.

Not much else to report :)

I've had such a relaxing day today; I treated myself to a spa day :) it was lovely to just lounge around the pool, spend some time in the steam room and Turkish baths, and have a relax. I also treated myself to a hot stone massage - it was about 20 pound for 45 minutes! It was lovely :) So, money well spent I think :)

Being on holiday always makes me think about our way of life compared to other countries. I know that it's different when you're on holiday, but the pace of it is much slower; popping to the shops for bread and fresh produce on a more daily basis, taking time to enjoy the simple things like eating breakfast leisurely and out on the balcony (which would be difficult at home as we don't have one!) but all the same. I wish that life wasn't so hectic at times and that you could take a step back and it wouldn't have too much of an impact. I'm going to try to take more time over things and enjoy little things, like taking time out for myself.

Easier said than done though, right? :o

Not much else to report really; not sure what we're going to do tomorrow but we're going to take it easy. We might go for a walk if the weather isn't too hot, but not too worried if we just end up sitting around reading books :)

Very delayed post I know, but I love the concept of a luxury cattery, moggies sitting around with smoking jackets on drinking brandy and eating salmon puffs etc. :rotfl:

Great idea :rotfl: in fact, they have baskets with heated pads, a tv on in the evening and a sun terrace - it's not all bad!

And we're back. It always seems like a bit of a bump down to earth after a holiday, but at the same time I'm glad to be home :) we picked the cats up this morning, and after an initial sulk, both are very pleased to see us :)

We pretty much spent our budget on holiday, which is not a problem as such, means that the start of March will be pretty tight whilst we re-balance things. I also don't know how much we'll be able to save in February really, as we had to pay for the cats stay, plus the two tyres on the car; it all adds up!

Maybe I need to do a fiscal fast for March?

Back to work tomorrow and to be honest, I don't feel ready! As we didn't get back til 3AM this morning, I feel as if I need another couple of days to recover :rotfl: ah well, needs must.
