I've had a nice lazy Saturday; I popped into town this morning and treated myself to a jumper from next with a voucher I got for christmas :) I also had a nice chai latte from co$ta as a treat :) I needed to get warm from the wind! ;)

I've been food shopping and put petrol in the car for the upcoming week. It's going to be another busy one with rehearsals and parents evening, but it'll go fast I'm sure!

I'm aiming for the next 6 days to be NSDs, but we'll see :) once all the DDs go out on Monday, I'm hoping to do a small OP to start the month off.

  • I can't believe it's the end of January! So, end of the month update :)

    • We've OP'd £354.53 which is £4.53 over target :)
    • We've put £454.16 into savings which is under our target of £500 but I'm not too worried :)
    • Managed 20 NSDs, which meant we hit out target :)
    • We went £62.33 over budget in our general spends, which is slightly frustrating but I had forgotten about the car insurance, so it could be worse.

Hi I am just coming out of lurking to say Hi and I love your monthly list. It seems a great way of keeping on track and not loosing focus.

You have done really well this month.

We've had such a lazy day today; I've not been outside the house! :D and I've been in leggings and a hoodie all day, the ultimate slob wear :D

I'm doing chicken in a county french sauce for tea (half price jar of a well known chicken sauce maker) with mash and broccoli. I might do some semolina for afters, if I can be bothered :)

I've had lots of ideas today about a new direction I really want to take, but I'm scared of actually making the jump and starting the process. I'm a big wuss :o but, if I decide to, I'll let you know ;)

Any tips on how to manwoman up a bit? :o

Not really, we need to know specifics so we can give you tailored advice :D.

I can't put any specifics yet, but I can say that it's in the self-employed realm of things....  I keep coming back to the same idea, I spend my 40 minute journey to work every morning thinking/daydreaming about what I would do. I've got about 50 different ideas jotted down, with ideas stemming on how to implement them. I've got sums and budgets to work out how many hours I'd have to work to get the same as I earn now.

But, it would be a massive risk, and I don't know if I'm brave enough to take it :o I may start it as a side thingy, and see what happens.

    Maybe :o
