    It's Friday :j :j :j

Now 25 weeks, the time is flying by  have written a list of things we need to buy in the next 3 months, so we'll be nice and organised by the time the baby arrives. First thing on the list, the car! We're in the process of buying the car; I think we'll have it in about 2 weeks time which is exciting :) We've managed to get the car for £6,500 which is about the top of our cash budget, but still, that's what we've saved the money for. We'll have to get the tax and insurance done too, so it'll probably be nearly £7,000 by the time everything is done  oh well, it's a necessary.

NSD 17 for me today - trying not to spend any pennies at the moment! DH wanted a dominos for tea when he got in for tea, but I managed to persuade him that the frozen pizza we already had in would be good enough for a Friday night.

Made an OP of £120 today so our mortgage is slowly plodding down in the right direct. Every little helps, right? :)

    Happy weekend everyone :)

Being organised is the way forward, Alex ;)

I realise this, though I'm not very good at it. :)

We used to be able to manage OP of £700 a month, so £120 seems a bit small now :o

Went for a Nissan Note in the end - good size, low mileage, should last us a while :)

How fast do the weekends go?!

Me and DH went to look at some baby things yesterday - how confusing are prams/car seats? We looked at so many types yesterday and I still don't have much of a clue as to which type or style or anything I want! Thankfully car seats are slightly more straightforward, but I still don't know about the pram. Also, the prices seem to differ vastly, and I can't quite see what the benefit of having a £800+ pram is vs. a £350 one? Also, felt a bit daft pushing empty prams around the shop :o

Having a relaxing day today - we're going round to a family member's house for tea - and I'm going to bake a cake later :) first one in our new oven :j been to Mr Ms this morning and somehow managed to spend £49  got lots of healthy things for the week, which is better than the blt bagels we've just had for lunch :D

    Happy Sunday everyone :)

I don't want to worry you SF, but we *honestly* spent more time choosing a pram and car seat than we did a home :o

It became an all-consuming nuisance. Just find a decent pram and seat that meet some safety standards and don't require a remortgage, then move on :D

You'll be back to overpaying soon enough, I've come to realise good and bad years come and go financially.

Hope you're happy with the new car. :)

All too often, the "difference" is the amount certain manufacturers can get away with for a "name". :)

Food sounds lovely as always. :)

 One afternoon walking around local big town / city = job done for a pram.
