Pregnancy is not the time to be worrying about weight or starting extra exercise! Unless your midwife says something, the advice is generally to stick to what you were already doing. Granted, if that was a doner kebab pizza every night, sort it out
I wouldn't think about it, you will have plenty of time to lose it when running around with a baby.
Also, just remember that like all biological processes, your pregnancy will be unique and that rules of thumb only go so far.0 -

I can only go by my experience.
Do you shop around for your car insurance and contact brokers not on the usual "compare the market" type places? All of our cars have been fine for transporting our family in comfort - the only issues we've had are when we've had lots of small children requiring carseats before we had a seven seater. My Passat, Astra and Mondeo were all lovely - as is my Golf Plus.
I think what one considers a good level of comfort in a car is dependent upon prior experiences.2018 totals:

I certainly do shop around, but not beyond the couple of big comparison sites. Have you ever read the MSE article on insurance shopping? From memory, the average person is 95%+ likely to get offered the best price for them based on these two alone. So I don't contact additional brokers, but I really don't think it's necessary in my case. I drive a small, relatively old car that was widely available in the mass market
I think your point re. comfort being based on what you've experienced before is a good one, I still remember my Grandfather's Ford Granada with fondness something like 20 years after it became scrap metal!0 -
Hi SF
One of the advantages of living with a builder is he can fit our own appliances - with a bit of encouragementDepending on when the wiring was done, there simply weren't the same rules as there are today. We're in the position of having to rewire the whole house as everything is 'bodged'
As for the weight gain, I second everything Ed has already said. You might want to focus on making sure you get all the nutrients and vitamins you both need from your food, but I definitely wouldn't recommend calorie counting. You should be trying to relax and enjoy this time, not finding extra things to worry over - easier said than done!
Hope you get things sorted soon and can enjoy the rest of the holiday"It is often said that before you die your life passes before your eyes. It is in fact true. It's called living." Terry PratchettBought our house 2012Married 2015

Thanks for the comments
I just don't want to be huge! But, I am growing another human being so I guess weight gain is somewhat inevitable
but still, need to keep an eye on things I think.
Had a nice relaxing evening with my parents, and am just about to get tea sorted - I've made a stew in the SC which is making the house smell amazing. Going to do some green beans to go with it and then it'll all be done.
Another NSD too; haven't needed to get anything. Tomorrow should be one too, all being well and then Thursday I'm meeting a uni friend for the day so a spend there. I'm looking forward to it thoughhaven't seen her since I told everyone I was pregnant!
Happy Tuesday everyoneBe who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I haven't read the insurance article. The brokers work for me but apart from a BMW 530i and a LR Discovery, the cars are somewhat "specialist".
Father's 1967 Daimler Sovereign (Jaguar 420) is the one I remember, would rather forget the long journeys made in my mother's various Series Land Rovers though. :rotfl:2018 totals:

Don't worry about your weight unless you've been eating too many Easter eggs.
Hope your stew was nice, I also made slow cooked stew for this evening which was rather delicious and cheap.2018 totals:

I met a uni friend in Leeds for the day today, and it's been lovely
I haven't seen her since November, so we had a lot to catch up on. We had a wander around, went to wagamamas for lunch and costa for a break in the afternoon. We also went into various shops to look at baby clothes - still not bought any though
So, it hasn't been a NSD but it doesn't matter. We're off to the pub quiz in a bit, so it'll be lemonade for me and beer for DH. I like being on holiday!

The Easter holidays are almost over
I'm spending today doing odd jobs around the house - I've also changed our bank statements from having them in the post to all online. I've posted on the blog today about streamlining finances and I'm trying to do that. I'm actually relieved we won't get multiple statements every month and less junk in our household.
It's another NSD for me todaywe're having baked salmon with roast vegetables for tea which is nice and straightforward. Had some soup for lunch - trying to get my 5 a day, no matter how hard it seems at times!
Happy Friday everyoneBe who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.
