Well done with the blogging, what do you write about?
I blog about personal finance :)
Where did you find the slow cooker recipe? We have one of those but find that there's too much food whenever we try to make anything with it.
I found this one on frugal queen's blog - it makes more than enough for the 2 of us, I'm going to freeze the leftovers for another time :)

Thought it might be music related. Sometimes I wish I could hand over my finances to somebody that is good with, erm, finances. :rotfl:

Oh my goodness, this week has been mental. So, so busy! It already feels like the holidays were ages ago :( which is always the case when you go back to work I guess. It probably doesn't help that it seems really hard to get up in the mornings, as it's still cold and dark. Definitely doesn't help :o

I've had NSDs every day so far this week :) I've taken the same lunch to work all week - ham sandwich, prawn cocktail crisps, chopped melon and mango, 2 mini flapjack bites and water - so I haven't been tempted to spend money whilst I've been there. I just need to avoid chip Friday tomorrow... ;)

Me and DH had been talking about re-mortgaging to get a better rate, but the deal we were going to do has gone from a £299 fee to £1,199 fee   so we're going to stick with what we've got so far. How can they justify such a big leap in the price?! Going to keep our eye on that though, as I think we might try and get a better deal in the not-too-distant future.

Right, I'm off to make a cuppa :)

    It's the weekend :j :j :j

I'm so looking forward to having a couple of days to recover from the week; I intend to have a lie in and a slow day tomorrow. I need to go food shopping but it shouldn't cost us very much. We've got some stewing steak in the freezer so I'm just looking at recipes as I'd like to do it in the slow cooker on Sunday if I can find a good stew to make.

On the blog today is a post about our two cats :) they do make me smile.

    • £113 to savings
    • NSD - avoided chip Friday :D
    Happy Friday :)

    I love the weekend :)

Me and DH have been furniture shopping today and have finally found some bedside tables that we like! We've been searching for about a year (not even kidding...) for some that would fit in our bedroom and that are big enough as I tend to have quite a lot of stuff on my bedside table :o we got them in the sale for £119 each which we thought was a good bargain. We've ordered them so as soon as they arrive at the shop we'll be down to pick them up. I'm so happy!

So, today ended up being quite a spendy day, but I'm not too worried :) our finances are looking quite good at the moment *touch wood* and I think we've found a car insurance renewal for £215 for the year which is excellent :D that's due just before the end of January so need to get that sorted really.

I've currently got goulash bubbling away in the SC and it smells so good  we're going to have that later with a jacket potato. I also have this rice pudding in the oven, which also smells fantastic. I've never made rice pudding in the oven before - only on the hob - so I'm looking forward to that. I'm going to make a quick warm berry compote to go with it :) it's a good job we don't eat like this every day, otherwise I'd be really fat ;)

I'm trying to ignore the fact that the weekend is almost over :( I'd love to work a 4-day week, just so I could feel like I'm more organised. There is never enough time to do anything! Well, I could be more productive, but with work, writing blog posts and other stuff with that, then everything else in the house, it seems like the time just flies by. I'll be 90 before I know it :o

    Happy Sunday everyone :)
