Spent a lovely few hours at my friends house, being allowed to look at her 5 yr old DD's presents from Santa, and trying to guess the hamsters name, I was fine and friend shed buckets of tears! She gave me the best friend lecture as I was leaving about stopping running after everyone else and just sitting having a cry to myself, but she knows thats not in my nature.
DD was alone in the room, she has had D&V all day, dont know if its norovirus or just the stress just hitting her, she barely drinks but did eat chicken nuggets and "some potato wedge thingy" at her friends last night, so will wait and see what transpires, currently sitting up in bed with a bottle of water and a slice of toast!
    Good luck tomorrow Flutterby!

    Evening everyone

Jools & unclebryn - thinking of you and your families as we start 2013 - hugs xxx

Good luck to all who are undergoing surgical procedures! Hoping this sorts any problems for you at the start of the year.

Happy New Year - hoping this year brings hope, happiness, wealth and health to all my virtual friends and if it doesn't we're all here to share, listen and lighten the load x

Got home from being away at lunchtime - was nice being away, great to meet up with old friends and met some new ones too! Was very good didn't drink that much at all the whole time we were away - but think I made up for the calories with the amount of food I ate - so have only had some home cooked ham and salad for dinner tonight as just craved salad and something light. Salad already prepped and in the fridge for tomorrows lunch. Have dared to stand on the scales since we've been home and nowhere near as bad as I feared - thus confirming my thoughts that it's the alcohol that really affects my weight - so now will be monitoring it much more carefully. I'm certainly not going to be OTT about not drinking but will certainly restrict the wine (this is my fav tipple!) to weekends - as I seem to be able to be really good food and drink wise in the week and then can have what I want over the weekend. I really don't want to putting any weight back on during 2013 as I worked so hard to get it off in the first place.

Just working tomorrow until lunchtime then have some leave. Have a mountain of washing but won't wash on New Years Day - as it's supposed "to wash someone away" - just never washed on New Years Day so won't start now!

Still seem to have a mountain of food, so will have a good sort out tomorrow afternoon and do a menu plan for Thurs and Fri - then organise next week's menu too and do a food shop Friday morning (hoping to only need a few bits - famous last words!).

Keep safe and well everyone x

  • Today went really well the outlaws really enjoyed themselves and stayed until 9:30pm. DH took them home and we still have plenty of buffet food left so that will be dinner tomorrow with some fresh salad and new potatoes that are in the fridge. DH is going to take some for lunch as he is back at work.
DS is going to help me to take all the decorations and tree down tomorrow so then I can start the blitzing of one room at a time.
I missed Graham Norton but I will catch up on BBC iplayer sometime tomorrow, MIL said it was hilarious.

    JackieG keep posting x

Flutterby best wishes for the op tomorrow ((((((Hugs)))))

    Happy New Year everyone
We have been out at a caravan rally, fed & entertained for the last 3 nights & tonight. Long way from home so tomorrow we have to pack up and return. Des will wait to the 6th that way can put the dusting off until then:D
It has been really good and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves without over doing the alcohol, and having no food to prepare, and really good company. Minimal signal and even less free time!
Jools & unclebryn think of you
Time for bed I think. ((Hugs)) spoons all round, take care all DG
