    Morning all,

Bright and beautiful morning here, no wm on the go though, as I read it was bad luck on NYD and im sticking to that :D

Went to my sisters last night, had a great evening with nibbles and champagne, came home and waited up for dd, who came in at 3 she was ok, not had too much to drink at all.

So today not much will be done at all, I am off to see my dad in a while, and will see whats happening with my mum.

Happy New year to you all, and I hope 2013 is a good one xxx

  • Good morning everyone and Happy New Year happy_new_year_sign_2_plz_by_mirz123-d4jqy7u.gif

Very quiet NYE here with OH, DGG and me, while DD went out partying. We ate a lovely dinner, watched TV and played games.

It's actually not raining so a trip to the adventure playground and a walk by the river is planned after brunch.

Well wishes to sick people and pets and hugs to those who need or just want them. Keep warm and safe and have a super day :)

    Morning all.

Stayed at home last night - we'd recorded a couple of films and then watched some TV

Yes, we saw Graham Norton as well - I love Hugh Jackman, and I'm going to the cinema to see LesMis when it comes out.

This morning I laid in until 10am. My body clock prefers late nights and getting up late. However, normally I force myself to get up at a sensible time, otherwise I'd never get anything done.

But today is going to be a relaxing day, with nothing much to be done. We are going to have our traditional New Years Day lunch of an M&S salmon and prawn en croute, which is a big treat for new.

    Then reading, TV, jigsaw puzzling.

Tomorrow reality starts again, so we'll enjoy this last day of holiday.

Hope 2013 brings good things for all of us

  • I'll leave you with one of my favourite Neil Gaiman quotes:

“May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you're wonderful, and don't forget to make some art -- write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself.”

I love Neil Gaiman and I adored this quote, thank you GlitterKitty :)

When my DGG was very small, she actually believed that she was Neil Gaiman's Blueberry Girl, as I read her the book and showed her the pictures that many times and she did bear a striking resemblance to the little red headed girl. I never had the heart to tell her it was actually written for Tori Amos's little girl, Tash!

Now she is growing up, she still loves the book/prayer/poem and I hope it serves her well:

"Ladies of light and ladies of darkness and ladies of never you mind, this is a prayer for a blueberry girl.
First may you ladies be kind.
Keep her from spindles and sleeps at sixteen.
Let her stay waking and wise. Nightmares at three or bad husbands at thirty, these will not trouble her eyes.
Dull days at forty, false friends at fifteen- let her have brave days and truth.
Let her go places that we've never been, trust and delight in her youth.
Ladies of grace and ladies of favor and ladies of merciful night, this is a prayer for a blueberry girl.
Grant her your clearness of sight.
Words can be worrisome people complex, motives and manners unclear, Grant her the wisdom to choose her path right, free from unkindness and fear.
Let her tell stories and dance in the rain, somersault, tumble and run, Her joys must be high as her sorrows are deep. Let her grow like a weed in the sun.
Ladies of paradox, ladies of measure ladies of shadows that fall, this is a prayer for a blueberry girl. Words written clear on a wall.
Help her to help herself, help her to stand, Help her to lose and to find. Teach her to we're only as big as our dreams. Show her that fortune is blind.
Truth is a thing she must find for herself, precious and rare as a pearl give her all these and a little bit more :
    Gifts for a blueberry girl"

    Morning all

Off to b&q in a bit to get pot of paint to give the kitchen a facelift. Also some mould free grout for the bathroom. We have problems with mould everywhere in this house  Then hopefully taking the boys for walk. All the usual places will be affected by the flooding so not sure where to go.

I have washed the one load of washing that there was and hung out to dry, hoovered, dw on, kitchen and bathroom wiped over too. Tree amd decorations will come down today at some point.

Lunch will be soup and bread (prob beans on toast for ds) and dinner is chicken arribatta (sp). Never had it before but hubby insists I will like it. It had better not be spicy as I seem to have caught the tail end of the boys bug. Don't need more of an upset tum than I need to have.

Hugs to all that need or would like one :)

    Hi all
The kitchen is finished, woohoo, all the cupboards are sorted.
Hubby spent a few hours in the garden & then came in & has gone for a nap, he's probably overdone it. He wanted a hair cut, grade 4, I did grade 2, hopefully it will look longer when he wakes up, lol.
The chicken wings & the piri piri are all cooked, just need to do a batch of rice to go with, then I shall put my feet up for a while.
    Hugs Hester
