Dish draining thingy washed (yuck) and all round kitchen sink and windowsill cleaned you know, all those bits OH doesn't 'see'

All dishes done (well all that were in the kitchen, there was a few things still lying around the livingroom which haven't been done) all the washing hung/in dryer and the 3rd washing is now on

Was having an aspirational look at a new tall freezer we did mean to buy the matching freezer when we got out tall fridge (which is 2-3yrs old most likely, oops!) we have a chest freezer which I hate and we have been looking towards getting the tall freezer soon so was thinking about getting it on payday till I remembered we NEED to pay one part of out hols before the following payday so new freezer won't be happening!

Think I will go, get bathed for the day and de-hoard some bubble bath

Whilst waiting for my bath to run I dismantled eldests (old) wardrobe

The OH came home from work early :D. This meant we could go to the tip with the wardrobe, an old dismantled toddler bed that was in the two other girls' in-built wardrobe, the old microwave and the plastic stuff I'd chucked out the garden this morning :)

    Evening/Morning all,

On the subject of fridges, coincidentally, I took a picture of mine this evening (it's a long story but basically, I moaned about having Tesco vouchers for stooooopid stuff and got teased about fibbing about what was in the fridge, so I took a photo)

    Photo160.jpg

It could do with a pull out and clean when I can be bothered, but nothing is out of date, mouldy or otherwise scary.

Anyone else ready to post a picture of theirs - or is there unnecessary, aspirational foodstuffs in there that will never get eaten, aren't particularly liked, out of date or already gone off? And could you actually fit a week's food in there?
I am getting a new fridge - is that a Bosch please?

I am having lots of work done in the house so need to declutter.
I thought of a storage unit but no transport so either hire some or beg relatives to help.
I then asked a neighbour who lives alone in a big house - is there a spare room I can use for storage. I think I will be more motivated to sort out more before it goes into storage if it is at the neighbour's house. Plus - I can carry it there.
I would also be embarrassed if I didn't get around to shifting it back as soon as possible.

House is tidy and clean. Been in an all day meeting at home. Am very tired but happy as it has been really productive, but got a very long day tomorrow and still a lot of work to do. So much that I almost feel overwhelmed. However, I will chip, chip, chip, chip, chip.

Interesting post Jojo about your mother's food storage. My dad has been known to visit 5 or 6 Tesco's in a couple of days to stock up on an item that is being withdrawn. As though the world will end if he can't buy a particular brand of blueberry jam in the future.

If you catch me on MSE tonight, tell me off as I haven't got time to be here!

Have chucked a broken under bed box and 2 carrier bags full of soft toys and a finding nemo cushion

Both of the kiddy bedrooms are an absolute disaster area though and I've run out of energy for sorting them :(.

My fridge is old. Reliable, but old. Please don't tell it that it's old as we could do without having to replace it just yet.

Top shelf is jars of condiments, mayo, pickles etc.
Middle shelf is jams, yoghurts and grapes (if I have them in)
Bottom shelf is butter, cheese, ham etc and the space where I put defrosting meats.
Salad drawer is packed with, salad & veggies. But as it's an opaque drawer we can't see into it so we forget the stuff is in there! :o That often contributes to our bung-it-all-in soup.
Fruit juices, ketchups etc in the door.
The tiny shelf at the top of the door has the tube of garlic puree, tom puree, 4 x ready to drink shots (why?) and 2 abandoned chocolates from a meal that DD went to about 18 months ago.

Oddly enough milk never seems to get in there very often!

Brighton belle, thanks for your kind words. The workshops actually went really well and once I was over the initial nerves I really enjoyed myself. I've got another full day of workshops tomorrow and 3 more days next week, so I feel a bit calmer about them. Going forward I realise I need to take more control and if I am going to do workshops my employer has to find someone to cover me in the office.

De cluttering has stopped, which is a bit worrying, I don't want to lose momentum. Don't they say it takes a certain amount of days (30?) doing something regularly to form a habit? I would really like to be in the habit of having clear surfaces and to do that I need to declutter enough to have space to put things away.

Good luck with the job This Year!

Hmmm, my fridge. I don't think there is anything too scary in there. Lots of cheese, lots of cucumbers, yoghurts, more salady stuff, butter. This is just from memory though, when I actually have a look I might scare myself!

Sjprmc01 - wow! Sounds like you got a lot done today. I love going to the tip, it is very cathartic! Weeeee, smash!

This Year, shhh, our fridge is really showing its age too. It was playing up last summer, so we started researching new ones, i think we scared it and miraculously the old one recovered!
  • Yes, Florence, it's the Bosch easy access. Essentially the same as the Siemens one, but a couple of hundred pounds cheaper.

It's got a huge amount of storage in it and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

I'm not showing you my fridge I'm afraid!! I am aware it needs attention however and am not in denial:o My whole kitchen needs attention at the moment.

I seem to have stalled too:(

At the table top sale last weekend a friend who also goes there asked if there was anything left in my house:rotfl: ,as I had so much stuff. Sadly there is... Lots!!!

I've been distracting myself with gardening, need to get back to it, feel free to give me a kick up the bum:p!
