Can't edit my post above. Have sorted thro yesterday's post, shredded envelopes and bank letters.

Went thro my purse to take old my old payment card (now shredded). Found I had two T clubcards, so spoke to Cust Services and have shredded one of them too.

Also shredded all the no-longer-needed bumpf from Monday's appointment. My bag is now in pristine condition.

Must remember to schedule a couple of hours into today to deal with the huge pile of Valentine cards that will arrive later.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow pitlanepiglet, hope it all goes ok. :)

I've discovered the 'forty bags in forty days' challenge which starts today. The idea is that you declutter by filling a black bin bag (or carrier bag or whatever) of stuff, be it for charity, eBay or bin, every day during Lent. Rather than give up chocolate or alcohol or something like that, this is what I'll be doing. Anything to help the process. :)

They also have a Facebook page so people can help each other on.

Sounds like a great idea. Do you have a link to the facebook page please? :)

Ha, ha. Hello all. I'm usually on the decluttering thread, but above made me laugh out loud. It's good to be optimistic, a pile of valentine's cards is clutter we would all delight in. Every year I wait for my card from Brad, to no avail. That Angelina won't let him send it :rotfl:.

Right, back to the decluttering/fly lady impression, after this cup of tea...

Whitewing, if you really do receive a pile of cards, please share your secret :).

    Keep Smiling :)

I got one card, which will be scrapbooked, 2 cupcakes and some strawberry shortcake hearts. All from DH so I am happy. I have known him for 10 years and this is only the third time he has got me anything, I am pleased, but I am more pleased that he is making the effort to be affectionate lately.

I didn't actually get any post today. And we have a romantic trip to the dentist this afternoon.

Happy Vday for everyone, who ever your love may be...mine is a not so tall, all white but such a gentleman puss cat Polo. :D

I have got us a piece of chicken and some apple tart for dinner, :D

I also got myself a pine chest of drawers, very good make, from the recycling shop, which was an impulse buy, :o, but I do need it as have only 2 drawers in my dressing table but nowhere to store towels and sheets etc. Now trying to organise a pathway before the delivery guys come, nothing more motivating than people coming in to see parts of the house that need tidying...as a result, finding items such as clothes that I will put on FB. So, one largish item coming in and hopefully several smaller items going out.

I saw the postman walk up the path. Letterbox went, I heard something land. Went out, 2 envelopes! :j:j

Turned them over and it was 2 "letters" from my postal surveys. :o

But the day improveth. We are shortly off to the delights of Asda.

And I wish (even tho' it's Valentine's Day) that OH won't keep coming in and talking to me as I'm trying to crack on with my course, he wants me to listen to him and say yes, ok every so often and then waits for me to actually acknowledge what he's said before continuing! And worse, he will try to read what I'm reading over my shoulder, and then grab the mouse and scroll down before I've got to it or try to turn my notebook round where I'm jotting down notes so he can see what I've put... Love him to pieces but today he's on thin ice!

    I've been Money Tipped!
Dh posted me a packet of my preferred brand of iron supplement which I thought was sweet and hilarious both.

Anyway, looking around down stairs really is becoming less richardy. Dining room needs addressing for Richard because it's been ninth square and down stairs loo currently holds a lot of paint tins (none ready to throw, just saves going in and out to the barn from them and keeps them at a better more stable temperature too.)

Just a few weeks, months ago, cleaning through the whole of the down stairs of the house would have been seriously heavy going, now it's been possible with little stress.. Just about to mop the 'dogs' floor' then I am done.

The bedroom still hadn Richard, however much dh pushes it around, and the suitcases are all standing empty on the upstairs landing at the moment (becuase some were richarded and we haven't decided where to keep the ones we are keeping).

My house isn't perfect. It won't be for many years, but I think I feel less dispondant about that most of the time, so maybe chipping away at the old perfectionist thing is working a bit?

In anycase, I am not embarrassed about the meetings I have tomorrow (although I must lay clothes out tonight, tomorrow morning risks being a bit rushed!)

    This is it:

Hope that works! If not do a search for '40 trash bag challenge'. It's a little quiet in there right now, think most of the users are American, so hopefully it'll pick up later. :D

No celebration of Val's Day here since husband 'doesn't believe in it'. A few years ago I bought a card under the impression that we were doing them that year, but when he didn't I hid it in a drawer. It's still there. I think if I don't get a card from him this year (and doesn't look like I will), I'll put it in the bin. A nice little declutter. :)

Send it to yourself first and put it on display for a laugh - it'll keep him on his toes!

I have decluttered 12 books today.

Also 1 bag of paper (where does it all come from, once upon a time I used to keep this stuff a lot longer around the house - where did I used to put it all?)

Also some washing for the relative.
