Things I saw today as rubbish with no problem....

    More empty candle glasses.

And.....those plastic envelopes with poppers that pillow slips and sheets come in. So useful, so sealable, so tempting......but I have never once put anything in them.

New pillowslips on my bed, and the envelope they came in in the bin.

    Scary huh?

Also, I thought when I read that forty carrier bags out during lent...I shudders and thought...I don't have that much left that's rubbish...but you know I just might. I made two carrier bags of Richard up today, so if I do two more tomorrow then I am on track. We will see....

    Hello all,

Seem to be slowing this week, am supposed to be doing the bathroom but it's so blummin' frizzin in there I can't be doing with it! I have given myself 6-8 weeks in each room plus the garden and outside of house, so I should be able to go through the whole house by the end of the year. That's the plan anyway, we shall see...

Just need to put shelves in old boiler cupboard, finish window blind and hang it and then want to paint the walls, but have realised that I have a leak again! Am going to have to have some repairs done to roof. I thought it was the old chimney stack so have had that removed and tiled over but still leaking:( Could do without that at the moment...

On a more positive note I have got rid of my old fridge, was keeping it as apparently old fridges are ideal for storage of apples and the like:o Think I got about a dozen apples last year from my little tree so I don't really need the storage and it really isn't on keeping the fridge for the time I'm overwhelmed with apples, when that's likely to be years away:o Especially as the only place I could put it was the corner of my dining room where it was cunningly disguised as a table with a cloth over it:o Anyways it's gone:T
Next in my line of sight is the computer desk which is far too big, so I'm on the lookout for a smaller one which will hopefully attract less clutter;)!

    Hope everyone ok X

What a relief! Hope he stays pain free.

Hope that works! If not do a search for '40 trash bag challenge'. It's a little quiet in there right now, think most of the users are American, so hopefully it'll pick up later. :D

    Thank you :)

I was thinking it was a black bin bag, but they seem to be ordinary plastic carrier bags. We get rid of one of those a day easily anyhow!

I think you can use whatever bag you choose - I'm doing carrier bags as its easier for me to fill them. :)

Good news about your husband pitlanepiglet, hope he recovers well :)

Our dining table/sideboard is currently listed on eBay until sunday - no bidders but have someone 'watching' it. Keep your fingers crossed for us as no idea what we'll do if they don't sell!

If I didn't have so much stuff it wouldn't be so difficult to keep it tidy/clean etc

If I knew where all my clothes were and they were laundered and hung up correctly I wouldn't think I had 'nothing to wear'

If I didn't feel so bad about being fat I wouldn't need to buy new clothes to attempt to look pretty in, coz of course, I have 'nothing to wear'

So what is the answer? Lose weight? (Clearly not the answer or I wouldn't over-buy for the kids too). Learn to 'love' myself for who I am? (Easier said than done!) whilst I know, realistically I don't need the half of what I own, it doesn't mean that I can bring myself to get rid of it, and, instead.
, rather illogically, keep and add to it!

( bad day/ feeling down has resulted in the purchase (online) of 3 tops, a pair of leggings and a pk of 2 belts) I know they can be cancelled/go back but I also KNOW I won't do this!

Hope your husband makes a swift recovery, pitlanepiglet.

Out today - 5 carrier bags of clothes, shoes and shizzle.

If I didn't have so many clothes, I would know where my clothes were. I am only capable of wearing one outfit at a time. Allowing for the fact that work-clothes pretty much sort themselves out (blouse, cardi, trousers, shoes etc) and the weekend is 2 days when I wear sweatshirt & jeans or joggers, and if I were going out in the evening (not often) I would obviously change for that, why oh why do I have a full (still chocker block) and 2 hanging rails that I can barely squeeze my hand in between the clothes?

    I've 6 coats. :o

I seriously need to get my clothes under control. I've stopped buying a little while ago, now need to eliminate those which I have given house room to but don't ever wear. Even got a skirt complete with tags and still in the clear film it arrived in! :o

I am not a clothes person, per se, I like to be comfy. I can do a capsule wardrobe* on holiday and that works, so why can't I do that all the time?

(*2 sundresses, 1 shorts, 1 3/4 length trousers, 2-3 tops, fleece/sweatshirt, undies, swimsuit, sarong, flipflops, [wear jeans & trainers travelling] + toiletries all of which fit into my hand luggage and I'm happy to handwash a couple of items if necessary)
  • I sorted my wardrobe a few weeks ago, I packed away the summer stuff and filled 7 black bags to go for jumble. I smile every time I stand in front of the clothes rail as I can now see everything that I have and I can hang things up again easily. It's great, I've discovered things I forgot that I had and I'm wearing more of my clothes than I ever did before.

Got to get back to clearing out tomorrow, I'm going to try to blitz it tomorrow so that I can relax on Saturday. Hubby is doing really well, no pain at all although he's pee'ing a lot!
