I get where your coming from but my first reaction was nnnnnnnnnooooooooooo!!!!!! :money: think long and hard. Have you booked a holiday yet? or just mulling it over?
Its an interesting dilemma - or a fleeting thought... :wave:purplegrape wrote: »LOL, someone at work advised me to do just that last week when I was lamenting the lack of a booked holiday this year.I was sorely tempted in this weather (still am!)
its not booked yet and will have to do flights separate later on in the year which is worrying as i'm sure the prices will rise dramatically so was thinking a bit of interest might be cheaper in the end, dunno I'll have to mull it over a while longer.

I' ve booked 1 week in August to Tenerife the price is £650.00 (work in a school) I'am going with friends I have been saving for ages I haven't had a holiday for 7 years my children who are 18 & 20 said 'go mum and enjoy yourself, you deserve it' so why do I feel soooooo guilty? I will be experiencing financial changes in September then again next year..so worried but on track to pay off as much debt as I can...I feel the holiday money should be paid towards the debt... but also know that this probably will be the last chance of a holiday for many years. Then the cycle begins holiday vs debt.Penny wise pound foolish. 366 days 1p challenge 2020/21/22/23 completed.

I know what you mean jaxsmar. We haven't had a holiday abroad for 6 years and we aren't having one this year either so I've been looking at short breaks away in the UK in the summer, but I just can't bring myself to spend the money. I want the kids to have lovely school holidays and summer memories though so I will have to find something as a compromise.

Apologies for failing to post last week. I was away for two days with work and running around with the boys and then on Friday disaster struck!
I came home from a night away to a frantic message from my dog sitter to say she had rushed my dog to the vets! The long and short of it is I have eventually found out that he was attacked by a bigger dog. He's only a toy poodleI spent the weekend transferring him to various vets (5 in total), picking up blood for transfusions. He had to be resuscitated on Friday evening and was in critical care all weekend! I have insurance thank god but I didn't realise most vets want paying up front so need to think how on earth I'm going to sort this out before he's well enough to come home
also the costs are going to exceed the single event total! He's not even 2 yet
Anyway last week was regular payment week on my cards so I have rounded each payment up to the nearest pound. An extra 82p on M&S, 98p on Barclaycard, 73p on MBNA, 27p on Virgin and 87p on Sainsbury. Hey guys, things have been quiet throughout January, but I guess everyone is finding it a bit tough this month. Have managed a bank skim of £6.87 today (as it's payday) - just sneaking in for the January total.Sealed Pot Challenge - No: 223
2015 - £179.55
2014 - £363.98
2013 - £258.130 -
Hi all, 7.50 this week for me, which is what I had left before payday. Sooooo good to have my wages... Why do I let January be such a pain every year? I pledge now not to overspend in Dec 2013, LOL!
Not sure how February will pan out, I ended it with my boyfriend this week and I think I might need to entertain myself a little more than usual to keep me cheery. I also always find being single more expensive, so will be an interesting challenge to my over payment resolve!
Great work everyone!0
