I don't know. It really does scare me where she will leave the kids. Both my neices have different one night stand fathers.

Christmas card?? I only got one off my youngest sister family wise! The only festive post from my elder sister would be "Can I borrow £200?"

Perhaps focus on finding some good take outs for next year.

I find it is much harder to find a decent chinese/far eastern than it is to find acceptable/good curry.

    I will be.

Round here ALL Chinese take outs taste the same (A number 33 is the same in all take outs and all taste the same)

You can't get a good indian round here for love nor money. There are those Pizza Kebabs, Curry places but they are awful :(

I'm glad you didn't load them up with sugar as the come down is horrid for those of us who are sensitive to it.

My sister and brother in law used to do this with their children after they separated and, to me at least, it's bordering on abuse.

I went round to hers this morning, to drop my neices off (at 8am! as they were up) and she was still in bed and the cheeky mare said "Oh I was expecting you to have them for a day, as we were planning on keeping the party going today".

I said "I had plans last night, I have plans today. Oh, we had to feed them and we lost a table at our favourite restaurant so £200 should cover last night. Last night can never happen again, You clearly have no regard for anyone but yourself".

Hazel, that's just priceless! I'd have paid good money to have been there to hear you telling her that. Good for you!

Still, that and the "NO! Not without asking us beforehand. How presumptuous, selfish and rude you are!" which you should have come up with when she was on your doorstep is a very difficult conversation to have in front of her poor children.

I hope you've made yourself crystal-clear and that she won't impose on you like that ever again. Cheeky mare!

She has been texting abuse all morning, I'm a lady dog, I am a prostitute and my boyfriend is cheating on me. Oh and I'm apparently adopted. These texts don't bother me, She made me snap by saying "You are a bad aunt, How dare you feed MY children chippy and cake. How dare you. They don't like stuff like that. They hate cake!!!!!"

I replied very calmly but angrily "They were hungry, They ate like theyve never eaten before. Do you expect me to keep them hungry. As for the cake they ASKED!!"

I guess I'm off the "please do me a favour list"

Honestly just ignore all texts from now on, you have a very selfish sister and its never likely to change, arguing with her wont help the situation. Take the high road and know you tried your best, wherever possible keep in touch with your nieces and with some luck they will turn out OK.

How would I keep in touch with them though? Won't she stop me?

I've been lurking on this thread and have been as outraged as everyone else. I don't understand how any loving mother can behave in this way. Those poor children! And, her behaviour can't be very good for their self-esteem. If they ate 'as they had never eaten before' you might want to think about neglect and whether or not social services should be contacted.
