Has this always been the case with Groupons and I never noticed it? Struggling to find an old one to check...but it's good to know.

    Value of the Groupon Voucher

This voucher has two separate values: (a) the amount
paid; and (b) the promotional value. The amount paid will
never expire and may be applied toward any goods or
services offered by the merchant if the promotion is no
    longer available.
The promotional value is the additional
value beyond the amount paid, and it will expire on the
expiration date above (unless prohibited by law).
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Problem is imagine how busy the spa is going to get if every guest can use it

Agree - thought the same thing and I wouldn't use the spa anyway - other than for a treatment...when I went for a massage at Paris in the 10 minutes I was in the reception area at least 2 people came in to use the fitness room and left when they found out it was $25 or whatever it was at the time...so I would imagine that the fitness rooms may see a lot more traffic based on my limited sampling of potential customers.

Ack, what a shame. Extra $54 on the cost of our stay at the Flamingo in June then

    Have you already booked ?
Should'nt this new resort fee be for new bookings only ?
We had booked and paid to stay at the Mandalay Bay about 2-3 years ago,and they introduced a resort fee AFTER we had booked, but was due to start BEFORE we went.We didn't have to pay the fee,as it was introduced after we had made the booking.

Just tried a dummy booking and nothing in the T&Cs mentioning resort fees.

However the 4 nights I booked months ago at Bally's for $40 a night is now $410 and one of the nights is $123.

I was going to say that I would refuse to pay the resort fee seeing as I booked before it was announced, but we pay for internet access so it's 6 and half a dozen.

We stayed at the MGM after they put the resort fee up from $10 to $20 as it was at the time. I pointed this out at check in and we only paid $10. I shall do the same at Bally's this time on principle and pay for internet access as and when.

The resort fees now have tax added and they didn't when they were first introduced.

BTW, as I could have told you months if not years ago, there is a big fight on 4 May which has just been announce recently. Mayweather and somebody big Announced or not announced, there is a big on that weekend every year.

So I went ahead and booked this groupon deal, I'll let you all know how it turns out :)

    Hi

I did this quad biking tour in November, also with a Groupon deal. I'm not a petrolhead at all and expected to get quite bored very early on in the 3hr+ trip (I only did it because my mates were super keen). However, it was FANTASTIC! I could have quite happily done a 6hr tour. The scenery is stunning. I'm sure you'll love it!

it is interesting that it's not been officially announced that I can see...I tried a dummy booking and nothing came up...I wonder if it will be for bookings made after 1st March? I would also be somewhat surprised if a guest who booked when there was no resort fee could not fairly easily have the resort fee waived at check-in if they pushed a bit.

I shall be doing exactly that at CP in May if they try and charge me $100 plus tax
  • re Caesars Resort fee, an editor's note has just been added:

"To clarify, the resort fee will apply to all NEW bookings beginning March 1. If you have already booked a stay at a Caesars Entertainment property – even if it is for a future date – you will not be charged a resort fee. The fee only applies to new bookings made on or after March 1, 2013."
