I just got two nights at The Venetian for £80 a night on Priceline, a Friday and Saturday too. Thats a pretty good price, right?!

What strategy did you use for Priceline? It's ages since I used it and can't remember how to narrow down the hotels on offer.

I selected 5 star hotels, then started with South Strip and £50, then added another strip direction and upped the offer (£10 at a time) till it was accepted.

Thanks. I would be worried in case I chose North Strip 5* and got Trump.
  • Hello All, Quick Total Rewards question. Does it seem odd that I have 1000s of points and yet every time I log into my account I'm not getting any offers at all? I'm sure I've read on here about you guys logging in and getting offers? I've never had one. Cheers

we almost never have offers - but if we log in and go to reservations, hubby can normally get 5-nights comped at all Vegas hotels except Caesars (had Caesars at one point but no longer).

edited to add- I am not sure, but it seems that living in the UK means we get far fewer offers than those in the US at the same level of play..we have in the past had some tournament offers but not recently....but have had comped rooms through reservations after logging in for years.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
  • We wanted to stay at The Palazzo, having checked the usual places, Hotels.com, Expedia, E-Bookers, RoomKey.com etc, the best room rates for our dates were found by registering on SmarterVegas.com for their unlisted codes.
Being Priority Club members for IHG hotels and knowing The Palazzo/The Venetian are bookable on the Holiday Inn/IHG website we investigated their price promise by e-mailing them.
Our information was to register with Palazzo/Venetian loyalty program, Grazie and wait for special offers.
We did so and and received special offers resulting in the lowest price, subsequently equalled by a smartervegas code exclusively available to Grazie members.
We enquired about the $28 plus tax resort fee at The Palazzo/The Venetian and were told it is optional at check-in.
If you use any of the resort fee inclusives they will be billed separately, this was fine with us as we didn't intend using anything, so very good.
For comparison with your Priceline rate, we ended up with $149 plus tax including breakfast, but on a Monday / Tuesday stay.
So yes, £80 per night for a Friday / Saturday stay looks very good, and you should have the option of not paying a resort fee.
    150 dollars a night is 100 pounds a night

Caesers Palace Buffet has had another price hike $26 for breakfast up to $51 for weekend dinner plus tax of course, and only $1 off for TR members

We like buffets but not at those prices, just crazy

I remember when buffets were 10.99 for dinner ( but after a few hands of blackjack were usually free) ... This was only 9 years ago

Thanks I'm just logging in now and see what happens. I havent booked a Caesars hotel for a while my last trip was at the Hard Rock. The website has changed so I'm having click around see what I can come up with. I might end up giving them a call. Would be a shame to have points go to waste.

You would know it was Trump because there wouldn't be the casino symbol in the description
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Erm, yes, well, £94.9398 this second, but say what now ?
Maybe I wasn't super clear, I only meant to say I was paying more for a Monday / Tuesday than the Priceline rate for Friday / Saturday, so Hello100 bagged a good deal.

I would have considered Priceline too, but was wanting to avoid Trump on account of valet parking only, did briefly think of parking in Fashion Show Mall overnight but decided against it.

Have now learnt about casino symbol thanks to stoneman.
