I wonder if the collective wisdom can advise re: a couple of novice questions please? First question regarding ID - am I right in thinking that bars etc won't accept UK photocard driving licence as ID? So I have to carry our passports? I have to say that there's no way on earth anyone will look at us and think we're under 25 :( so maybe we won't be ID'd?

I was asked for ID when buying a couple of cans 4% lager at Walgreens and I am ....ahem... 50+ :o
• only times i can recall being asked for ID have been:

- when buying stuff with a credit card (standard request)
- when signing up at the MLife counter

drivers licence has been fine on those occasions, don't think i've ever shown my passport. guess it's just down to jobsworths / venue policies, etc.

Hah! the mention of the California in downtown!
I highly recommend that place, not cos of the food, but its where I went in with $120 and walked very drunk with around $1300+ hours later! (3 of a kind on 3cd poker!)
:D:D
• followed the recent twitter handles although I can't find @TakreemVegas
Unsurprisingly I'm @martmonk
• Has anyone here booked direct on the Golden Nugget website previously? I had an error thrown up a couple of days ago and for the life of me I couldn't see what the issue was. I'm gonna try again today and failing that call them tonight but just wondered if it's a known UK issue for example.

I'll edit this later to let you know if (as is most likely) it was just my own incompetence.
• Regarding ID requirements. I was told by a slot club employee that there have been changes to the rules as to what they can accept as ID. The Gaming Control Board rules that is, so they need a passport from foreign nationals.

Different slot clubs have interpreted the rule change their own way. Some will only accept a passport as ID for any transaction, others only need the passport for signing up for a card.

Drop this girl an email at the Golden Nugget:
JMOLINA@GoldenNugget.com
her name is Janelle

She also deals with the Best rate deal, so if u booked direct and found cheaper (say with Lowcostusa or quickrooms, etc), she can do some magic by reducing costs :)
• re: Hilton Gatwick park&fly

has anyone got this package on an offer or sale before? i think i've always paid the standard rate, but with our trip not until April, i was wondering if it's worth hanging on for an offer, or if i should just book it?

sorry, i'm not sure of the scale of Hilton sales and whether they cover 'park and fly' deals - tho I guess a sale price drop may well be reflected in your package deal :/

this may be of use tho - http://loyaltylobby.com/2013/09/14/hilton-hhonors-instant-silver-status-fast-track-to-gold-after-four-stays-within-90-days/ (use at your own risk... etc etc etc :D:D ) - though I think the only benefit is you'll get a free bottle of water it seems, unless you can attain gold ;) lol :)

Glad you signed up! :) IMO, for time invested, SocialRewards is much better than myVegas! It also keeps the points you've earnt on your card alive.

Tip for twitter, is to follow people / companies who follow you back. Try:
@Camden_Sweet_Co
@PriceRunner
@O2
@TIVegas
@BlackMothVodka
@cutey
@Adnams
@ForbiddenPlanet
@Wdalecreamery
@amplifynews
@McvitiesVIPClub
@t3dotcom
@oxo_uk
@mgmlionsshare
@BarBeQuick
@VirginWines

:)
just wondered if anyone had any joy being 're-followed' by any of these? - if so, which ones? :)

Glad people are going for the SocialRewards - You've got me wondering if i've sold you a false dream now ferf!!! I must admit that I ommitted it is a bit slower to accumulate than it used to be, but at the end of the day, you click 3 links a day :D I signed the wife up to SR and she earned at least $30 in 3 months to give you an indication - it is a lot easier than slaving(!?) away on a game though :D

Here's a summary of some tips I found when I started out re: Social Rewards:
You get 3 shares per day.. this resets around midnight PST - If you do 3 Flamingo shares at 9pm...you will get 3 new shares when the clock resets at midnight PST.

“Retweets rewards” DO NOT count toward your 3…but you have to do them BEFORE you use the 3 or it will tell you have none left. – Same with sharing YouTube videos

Retweet and YouTube can only be done once per offer/video it seems

I also want to repeat that regardless of what you redeem or at which property, those points are added to your TR account. If you redeem for a $10 starbucks comp YOU DO NOT actually get a starbucks comp you get 1,000 Reward credits.

oh, and ferf - one of the things that makes the Willy Wonka machine cool is the music! Damn those catchy hooks! :D - the Oompa Loompa bonus is what you want (well, TBH, its all we got :D )... it's probably on youtube :) --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t51yjuVPnxw
