Off to LV in 10 days (first time)!!!
Some last minute quick questions
-What clothes do I need because I've been reading about storms?
-Been on myVegas and so far have 8K+ in gold coins. Which dining vouchers are the best to get for evening meals?
-Where is Walmart? (We have a car booked)
-Are credit cards easy to use? (we had problems last year in Greece!)
Thanks for any help given, very appreciated!!

I hope the storms have gone by then cause that's when we go too! As far as I know, it's still really warm despite the storms and the rain, I've never been before when it hasn't been anything but nice weather, so I'm just taking the same stuff as usual, shorts, tshirts, trousers (lightweight and jeans), lightweight shirts/cardi for something to put over my shoulders incase it's chilly indoors with the air con, and dressier stuff for night for if we go to a posh restaurant and show.
The myvegas points, I'm not sure what you can get for 8k. We've got about 16k, so not that many really, I think I'm just going to use them on Nine Fine Irish Men. Apparently the Aria buffet is popular.
The other questions I'm not sure on, I've never been to Walmart, but from what I can gather, it isn't that far to drive to, and regarding the credit card, there shouldn't be any problems with it, although it wouldn't do any harm to let your provider know you're going away.0 -

There's a few, my 'local' is the one on Eastern Ave, at Mccaran Marketplace. They have a huge Ross Dress for Less there too and I get a great big smile on my face as I watch the planes come into land right next door.:D
There is also Vons, Albertsons and Trader Joes.
Plus at City Centre they have a Wholefoods, which is fabulous.:)DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

there are several WalMart locations - we normally go to whichever one makes the most sense based on where else we are going that day.

You will want one that says 'supercenter' in the name.
If we are just making a WalMart run from our hotel we normally go to the one that's tagged as 1 on the map - on Charleston...just habit.
The one labeled 2 is one we've visited a few times....as is number 11.
Somehow we never remember (or can remember seeing) number 3...even though it's on Tropicana.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
We do Charleston too. Its very near the Northern Outlet Mall which we do at the same time.illegitimi non carborundum0

I'm torn on whether to buy this or not - $20 for $40 or $15 for $30 at Harley Davidson Cafe.

We already have 3 meals sorted with MyVegas or Groupons...we know our first night will be PF Chang's because that's just what we do...2 nights we have shows so may grab something quick and may not have a proper evening meal...but they are open until 11/midnight so maybe this would actually be a good post-show option...too many decisions, too many options. I don't want to lock us into too many things but I do like the ones where we buy the voucher and then on the day it seems 'free'.
Does anyone know if prices are about in line with what usmenuguide says (the menu on the restaurant's website has no prices which irks me).

I'd probably leave it, as you say so many dining options and specials everywhere. Especially with the happy hours.
Just for reference I still have a restuarant.com cert for this place which I bought 4 years ago and still haven't used :rotfl:along with all the rest of them, including the infamous Stripburger.DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

We're the same this time, sooo many places we want to eat at....we have loads of places we'd like to try, and are just worried once we get there that our appetites will go again, I hope not, as we've been pouring over menus that look really tasty!
We've walked past the Harley Davidson Cafe so many times, but have never really fancied going in, but just having a look at their menu is making me want to go there now too! :rotfl:
I like the idea of being prepared and having vouchers, cause then like you say, it seems like you're getting it for free, but as I know what we're like, I'm abit wary about doing that incase once we get there we don't want to go to that particular eatery, or run out of time to visit all the places. The only place I've bought a voucher for is the TOTW restaurant, I got a $25 voucher for $5 on restaurant.com, so even if we don't use it, I've only wasted about £3 something.
The problem with buying vouchers is, like you say, it ties you down to a place, but on the other hand it also makes descision making easier knowing that you've got a voucher to use that you don't want to waste.
We really like PF Changs too, I remember getting it for room service on our last night, and I'm sure we also went into the restaurant one night too.0 -
Just had a more indepth look at the menu, and the food is just our cup of tea, southern food, barbeque, I could easily just eat here the whole holiday! But yeah, it is abit bad that they don't put the prices on, it would be nice to know what sort of price range it's in. I can't imagine it would be that expensive, but having said that, if the price of the merch is anything to go by....0
