I must admit I am suffering from an odd problem - not post, but pre-holiday blues lol!

I just can't seem to get motivated to get the rest of the trip booked up - we want to go see some NBA in LA on the Monday before we come back but aside from that I still have 6 days worth of the holiday to sort out.

I suspect my lack of motivation has stemmed from a business trip coming in which means I land back into the UK from LA at 13:00 on the Thursday and have to fly back out to the US for a week 9 am on the Saturday - that's going to be a whole world of horrible jet-lag. :(

I think that would actually end up meaning you'd be set for your second trip to the US - you won't be back here long enough to readjust to the time change before you're back on US PST. :)

You would like to think so, but unfortunately I have a stack of UK timed meetings in the 36 hours I am back - its going to be 'interesting' although at least I'll get a flat bed on the second trip so I'll passout (probably before take off).

I'll give them a look, tried similar before and find I sleep longer, but wake up feeling drowsy - hopefully these arent as bad...

Paris buffet back on Groupon - lunch or dinner for 2 with a bottle of wine for $43.99 (dinner) $34.99 (lunch) (Limited quantity, it says, so could sell out at some point).

Can anyone reccommend this buffet? Have been looking for one to go to on our recent trip. Is this a particular good deal?

Orleans folks - can you confirm if the shuttle now picks up from Bally's (where the Rio shuttle picks up/used to pick up)? I doubt we will use the shuttle for our night or two at Orleans but we may so want to be prepared just in case. We do not normally take the car out in the evening but if we were having a bad run at Orleans may look for escape options...we haven't been to Gold Cost in ages so that may be an option too.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
  • Hi all Off to Vegas in 6 weeks for 5 nights for our Honeymoon very excited. Just in the process of planning our time there. We would like to see the Penn and Teller show when we are there - I notice that some of you have already been to see the show or have booked tickets and just wondered whether you would recommend buying the tickets before we go or waiting till we are there?

They are regularly discounted in advance so I would buy before and not have to worry about it when we are there...especially if it's a show you really want to see...5 nights isn't a huge amount of time and I would personally not want to lose any time queuing at tix4tonight or similar...though I'm not sure if they currently have P&T...there are usually vouchers in the local magazines but not sure they would beat the travelzoo deal.

guessing it will still be in same place as april this year which indeed is outside ballys, quite a way down from the strip (in comparison to where it was).

    guessing you know the route

Orleans , GC, Ballys and round and round again

I didn't - so if we get on at Bally's its direct back to Orleans then? That's good to know - thanks!

  • We didn't specifically look at Penn & Teller as we have seen it, but we had a look at Terry Fator and Legends at the ticket booth, both more expensive than we got through Travelzoo.

I'd say if you are happy to plan out your evenings and if you are happy with the Travelzoo price, it's probably the best you will get.
