Just had a poor second round. Don't think I'll be winning anything this time.

Whats the deal with the Spice Market buffet @ PH ????

Meaning, food ?! Is it a mixture like it says of mexican/asian style foods only ? or does it include similar to say those like normal buffet places ? (am thinking of Golden Carral in Florida, MORE buffet in Luxor).... Similar in terms of choice (thinking steak stuff ?!!)

Steak isn't really standard buffet fare - not in general...some have specific steak nights but it's not standard...prime rib, yes...steak, not so much. In addition to all the usual stuff Spice Market also has a great station with things like tandoori chicken, lamb and all the fixings...unless they have changed something since the last time we went (which is possible).

But since you mention Luxor - I went to Spice Market with a friend back when it was still Aladdin and he wasn't a big fan...we went to Luxor a few nights later and he proclaimed it far superior as it had more 'American food'...that was nearly 10 years ago when Spice Market was regarded as the best buffet in Vegas by most, so.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Hello from the Orleans. I'm waiting for the second round if my slot tournament and killing time playing myvegas and reading emails. I'm hoping to meet up with photome while we are here, and luci next week sometime if she can fit us into her hectic schedule.;-) We have just over two weeks remaining. We have tans, but it was 99 F yesterday and 97 F today so we are keeping out of it for now.

Wish me luck. I was one place away from the money last time.

Hope you did well in the tournament.

Where is the preferred meet point now that Bill's is no more?

Think we have a couple of possible dates for a meet so will be in touch.

except me getting the day wrong for our scoot city tour... oops :( It'll expire before we go back (aiming for Sept 2014 :D ) but hopefully I can repurchase the offer when it comes up closer to the time.

Your Groupon never expires, only the promotional value does. You will still have the $125 you paid to use with Scoot City.

I wouldn't compare the Spice Market with the Luxor. The Luxor buffet really isn't great.

Spice Market isn't fantastic, but it is far better than the Luxor.

Agree with ferf, no steak at buffets unless it is a Steak Night which are usually off strip at the Gold Coast or Orleans for example.

That said, I have a vague recollection of getting steak at Paris, but I could be havering.

I reread my post and should just clarify that I would absolutely agree with you - I've no interest in going back to Luxor buffet but we've been to Spice Market any number of times over the years...but to my friend Luxor was 'better'..I think he was mostly scared off by the middle eastern offerings at PH which were foods he had never tried before...my hubby was shocked when my friend's partner revealed it was the first time he had tried lamb, so they aren't very adventurous. :)

Aye I know, I meant I hope the Scoot City offer the promo again near our trip so we only need to pay the $125 ;) If not though, the fact that we've paid some already will lessen the blow of having to pay more!

My TR is in progress, so many details to add though, I've only done 3 days so far!

EDIT: Oooh nearly forgot to say I have a Travelzoo Kahunaville voucher that we didn't use ($25 for 6 drinks - $55.50 value) that expires on June 16th. Makes sense that someone gets the benefit of the promotional value so if anyone going before then is interested it'd be a shame to waste it! If not we'll just use the base value next trip :D
It's got my OH's (now husbands - eek!) name on it so I suppose a male would be better! The bartender asked for my name after we handed it over, but it seemed like it was only to clarify who was who as another party handed over a voucher at the same time, they didn't check ID or anything. Soooo just let me know if interested :)
