No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries in January 2013

Hope this is ok, but I have 2 of the Boots No7 vouchers that I'm not going to use if anyone would like them? They are to be used by next Sunday, let me know and I'll pop them in the post.Life is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.
Go as far as you can see, and when you get there you'll see further.
Take time but don't waste time0 -
I hope you don't mind me jumping in here, but it just dawned on me....who better to ask about toiletries than the lovely 'experts' on this thread!!!! (I mean that in a nice way!) I bet between you all you've tried most skincar ranges out there, so please may I be cheeky and ask for a little advice???
I have sensitive skin, but spotty (and I'm in my 30s...boo!!) can anyone suggest a range which might be good to try? I love LE, but if I'm honest with myself, my skin is no better on it than anything else. Clinique is OK, but again, for the money I don't see any difference!
More affordable ranges would be good......I cleanse, tone and moisturise, use eye cream and tend to use Mudd mask when it's really bad. I was looking last night, and my skin looks OK but up close it's 'congested' and I have the usual monthly MASSIVE under the skin nothing to pop spot on my chin.
I'd be so grateful for any advice.......thank you so much!!! Oh, and I have the OCM, but my skin had a mega reaction to the castor oil and took weeks to recover!0 -

What products are you using right now and what do you have? Might help guide product recommendations.
Some UUs for me:
Carmex strawberry tube: WNBA, will stick to the original one. Really love Carmex though, it's a HG.
Montagne Jeunesse dry skin mask with serum: WNBA, not a big fan of MJ masks and the sachets are fiddly.
Collection 2000 Lasting Prefection concealer: have already repurchased this, it's my HG concealer.0 -
On the subject of LE there is a TSV next Sunday. There is a link here if anyone is interested (not that I'm enabling as I won't be buying it. I don't use any of her treatment products). http://www.qvcuk.com/qvc.product.202281.html. That will be the first fiver in my pot re: TSVs I've avoided.
How did you know this was coming up? I'd be interested to see how much it is on for, because I love the LE stuff and the mask sounds good to me. I think it will be more money than I have to spend before pay day on the 31st but we will see.
My drama continued long after I went to sleep tonight, OH took me out for coffee to cheer me up this morning and now perving on QVC. Sorry for being such a miserable cow at the moment guys0 -

Sorry that you are having a rough time. Huge Hugs across the ether.

Ok, at the moment I am using Liz Earle - C&P, toner and moisturiser (light) and Clinique 'All About Eyes' eye cream (my DH goes to America for business so he stocks up on this and the Naturally Glossy Mascara as it's so much cheaper over there!)
I haven't got much in my stash (I tend to pass things on to my mum or SIL if it's something I don't get on with) but I do have:
LE gentle exfoliator
Mudd Mask
Johnson's Gentle Exfoliating Wash (I love this, very gentle)
Montagne Jeunesse Peel Off Mask sachet
Nivea eye-make up remover
Green Peopl'Hit The Spot' oil
Freederm gel (only bought in the last couple of weeks, but I like it, it doesn't make the skin flakey)
Clean & Clear deep cleansing lotion for sensitive skin
Astral light & creamy (currently using as body lotion)
E45 lotion
Simple rich moisturising lotion
and a Dove gentle exfoliating soap bar, which I don't remember buying!!!
Make-up wise I use
Green People mineral make-up
CLinique All About Eyes concealer
LE concealor
Body Shop pressed powder (tried LE and it gave me a major break out!)
Not sure if this helps or not!! I'm not a snob, I'll try anything cheap or premium......before I discovered LE I was known as the Clarins Queen....any thoughts about Clarins products? I haven't used them in a while. Though I'd be more than happy to find an own brand product that worked!!!!!0 -
Hi
I'm delurking LOL
Having spent far too much in the Boots sale I'm going to try and organise the toiletry stash. I still have loads of No7 vouchers that I am tempted to use on skincare.
Is No7 skincare worth it? Do the vouchers come round often?
I'm going to use up my toiletries as part of being nice to myself - sometimes I am my own worst enemy.
List to be posted up once I have a bit of time to organise the stash.0 -
rae18, I've got sensitive combination skin and get flare ups every month. It's been a bit of a trial and error for me (part of the reason I like samples so much
) and the following currently works for me.
During the week if I'm working I use Superdrug tea tree pads to cleanse/exfoliate (I find them less astringent and more gentle than other brands like Clearasil) followed by Dr Hauschka Rose Cream. If I'm using minerals make up then I apply Bare Minerals Prime Time. At night I use Bare Minerals purifying cleanser to remove minerals make up (Dr Hauschka cleansing milk if I've used normal make up) followed by Dr Organic Rose Otto facial serum or Trilogy rosehip oil and then Live Native moisturiser.
If I'm not wearing make up then morning and night time routine is Dr Hauschka cleansing cream followed by Live Native moisturiser. I'll also apply the Dr Organic or Trilogy before the moisturiser if I feel my skin needs some extra TLC or prtection.
not long in after a bracing 4 mile walk (boy is it bitter out there!) and my skin still feels soft after using Live Native and Trilogy. No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.0 -

Another UU to report - Kiehl's ultimate strength hand salve 5ml. Really liked this as it's quite soothing but probably WNBA as it contains parabens and I'd prefer to avoid them.No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.0
