My fist UU this morning - a Christina Aguilera body lotion Hubby bought me a few years back part of a gift set. Think I'd just thrown it in a drawer as it was a splutterer. Cut it open yesterday and now all gone! Only 68 to go (not counting all my mini trial size bits)

  • Im so glad to stumble on this site today. I was beginning to think I had an obsession with buying toiletries and make up and I was a bit strange. I have vowed to not buy anymore lotions and potions till at least April  to try and thin down my stash of goodies. I managed to stay away from boots but struggled with the 70% body shop sale. All help and ideas gratefully received x :D

I have also just stumbled across this thread and have decided to join this challenge! Planning on not buying any toiletries/perfume/make up etc., apart from the bare essentials, for the year.

I haven't yet counted up all the products I have but I know it is a lot. I do generally tend to try and use stuff up before I buy anything new but I am often tempted by offers. Make up is a particular problem of mine! I also have a problem with clothes so may join that challenge too!

I managed to stay away from Boots, phew, though I do have some INs to report. Avon ordered before I joined this thread, postal goodies and a shop temptation.

    8 INs :o

ALDI blusher - would not buy again. Cheap, but doesn't suit me or last.
AVON - moroccan oil conditioner; nail treatment with gold; super shock gel eyeliner; super shock mascara and 2 samples of 'Only Imagine' perfume.
Maybelline - this was free (paid postage) with a prima code, couldn't resist.

    OK, OUTS!

19 - another pack of Simple face wipes.
20 - threw out some hairspray that I haven't used since our wedding nearly 3 years ago, WNBA as I don't seem to use hairspray!
21 - threw out some leave in conditioner that was just too heavy for my hair, no matter how little I used...and I even tried it as normal conditioner. It was TIGI let it be, smelt gorgeous though.
22 - THAT aldi blusher. Yes already. It doesn't suit me, I can't return it or give it anyone and I used it all week. The shame the shame! :naughty:

    Cookie, I think you're tame. :heart2:

Hi and welcome. If Body Shop is tempting you too much, go and list what you already have (or very similar) that you might be putting in your shopping basket, you might see that you cannot possibly use any more in the forseeable future, also a big consideration is that BS seem to have these offers very regularly. Another thought is "what is it that you you would dearly love", a holiday, tickets to a show, great meal out, a nil balance on credit card, and slide the appropriate cash into a savings pot towards something really special, if you read back through this thread you will see that a lot of us are really fed up that we have kept buying more of the same and now don't even like a lot of it very much:o:o

    Have a uu

Beaticology Sweet Gingerbread shower gel - this was part of a set with a chocolate shower gel and a caramel soap. This is made by Bayliss and Harding and is a load of rubbish. It didn't lather as a shower gel so I put it in the bath and it barely lathered there.

I haven't much experience of B&H products but the bit I have had has put me off completely, they copy expensive brands but the products are rubbish.

Just glad that it is another bottle into the recycling.

Ah pants :( I've got a set of this in the stash :(

    Hi All,

Must confess to an IN, not expensive or unnecessary though (if you consider the term loosely....) and work and home are a bit rotten at the moment so I'm not going to dwell on it:

Botanics Mattifying Cleansing Mousse 150ml - I really love the No. 7 foaming cleanser that I'm using at the moment, its a bit of a HG but a little steep at £9 full price, although in fairness it lasts a good while (try to get it with a £5 voucher when I can) so thought I'd look for something similar to try that was a bit cheaper. Step forward Botanics - £4 full price, £2.49 on offer at the moment. The No. 7 only has about a sixth left in the bottle so timely. I like to use this in the shower in the morning and then a cream cleanser at night. Didn't have anything similar to replace it with so that's my justification :D Plus I got a voucher if I do need to stock up on the No. 7 if this one's not as good.

I also bought some face powder and some Bourjois blusher which is lovely and ran out a while ago, I have been using bronzer in between but I don't think it suits me as well, especially at this time of year. Was also on offer :money:

Work commitments ruled me out of the 75% off sale, felt a mild form of panic at this but just as well really, there was nothing I actually needed, I picked up quite a bit when things were half price for myself and also to put away for gifts. I must admit I didn't relish the thought of a rugby scrum in any case

I've a few TA that I sorted out of the stash yesterday:

No. 7 Summer Skin Pre-holiday Conditioning Balm - only a small tube, never used, I'd have opened it but its got gradual tanner in it and I really didn't fancy one brown shin as that's probably all it'd do ...:rotfl: Also v old, binned!

Onto Toni & Guy Model.Me Erin Styling Glue - was great when my hair was shorter but no use now its grown and had also literally glued itself to the bottle, therefore chucked.

Tesco Spa Body Lotion - never opened but old, I broke the seal and it smelt decidedly off - I've too much body lotion to warrant struggling along with something unpleasant. Out!

No UU for a few days now but some cut down/spluttering so hopefully more before the end of the month, although its not always easy to tell how long they'll hang on for!

Just started snowing here, please do not stick!!
